Damn, I'm looking at the website of one of the biggest radio stations in Greece and it's so obvious they don't like Gaga. They reported "4" going #1, Femme Fatale going #1, Femme Fatale going "platinum" and even Pitbull releasing his album, while all I saw about Gaga was a post about her helping Japan earthquake victims. They didn't even name BTW as the album of the week when it was released

I know what u feel. My radio station didn't even give Judas a chance and to be frankly honest, they never played it once or at least not when i'm listening.

Well actually most listeners won't think about whether the lyrics they're hearing are metaphorical or not.

So they stop at what the lyrics first evoke for them... And sadly most Christian people in the US think that GaGa worships the devil because she sang about Judas...

That's a pretty significant generalization. I think most people in the U.S. who identify as Christian simply don't care.

My mother is extremely religious (needless to say she doesn't approve of my bisexual lifestyle) and she didn't find anything offensive with Judas she just thinks Gaga is wierd but not demonic.

Judas flopped in the U.S. cuz the hooks were too off-putting for radio and they quickly moved on to TEOG before it might have gone any further. It did well in some other countries, but it was by no means a worldwide smash outside the U.S.

I think you can find people who understand the fact that it was a metaphore... but many didn't and the reaction of the Catholic League is a good example for that imo

Religious groups like the Catholic League aren't generally a good indication of the general populace when it comes to stuff like this. They just like to stir up **** to get media attention.

I'm friends with many Christians, I grew up in it, the problem with Judas wasn't the religious references, it was the fact that the sound was immediately off-putting to so many people.

You might be right, but I still think those references led many people to just not listen to it or not play it on radios for fear of reactions from religious groups...
