Another "Put It in a Love Song"?
Release the video, an call it a promotional single. If she releases a good song and it becomes a hit, everybody will forget RTW and that it even existed.

Oh.. it was already shot?
Well even if she releases it, it probably won't have that much of an effect.. I love Bey but the song is nothing close to special and even a good video wouldn't better the song by much. I guess just release it and move on, release it and let it drop, or just move on and forget that the song was ever made.

I don't think she has to release just a good song. She has to release a good song that has crossover appeal. "Deja Vu" and "Ring the Alarm" were good songs, IMO, but they weren't what pop radio wanted, I suppose. They did have crossover appeal, IMO, but still were overshadowed. So, IDK.

^ Yep.
I don't think there are any excuses at this point. 3/4 weeks is plenty of time to get to know the brand new Beyoncé single. The response isn't just lukewarm by people but by radio too, which is especially notable because Beyoncé usually does extremely well on radio due to her typical multiformat appeal.

Billboard won't.
Anyways, the video is slated to drop the 16th. With the video boost, (God fearing there is one) the single can get back into the top 50 and at least have 30M AI by then.
With 30M AI and 40K sales, the single can reach top 30.

Why is everyone acting like Run The World sucks? It's a good song...
I swear, I'm starting to feel like everyone here wants to complain about how no one tries anything different but doesn't want to give anything even slightly different a chance. It's just beyond me how Born This Way and Run The World have had atrocious reception here. They are both great songs, Born This Way being incredible in my opinion. Though Born This Way seems to be growing on the public, RTW not so much. Hopefully the video will help.

The instrumental is nice, but for me - it's the lyrics that are the big turn-off.

I could have sworn you were indifferent about the song. Did it grow on you or something?

To be honest, I was indifferent towards the first leaked version, mostly because it didn't sample the best part of Pon De Floor. I still don't think it's some kind of revolutionary new song or anything, but I applaud her for trying something new and I do enjoy the song. I'm certainly willing to defend it since people act like it's the scum of the earth. I actually haven't enjoyed much of her music in the past (probably only 5-7 songs), but I do like this one.

Sometimes some things just don't need defending, or rather impossible to defend. I came to term with this, dealing with this song. I like the song and it isn't her worst but I also see all the gripe about it. I'm just over trying to defend this.
NOTE: Sometimes you will still catch me defending it tho I'm just a sukka for the underdogs

Run the World isn't a horrible song, but it's not great either. But one thing is for sure, it's a weak "comeback"-lead single from Beyonce's much anticipated album. It has done badly for a first single from Beyonce (so far).
Besides, the song comes out childish rather than "woman empowering" or anything else. And no, Beyonce, girls do not run the world.

I don't think RTW is that bad at all. I love some of the parts of the song. I can see why pop fans wouldn't love it.

People have some sort of personal vendetta against these women. They are arguably some of the most talented people we currently have and they're putting out music they want to, so people are going to complain. As long as you like them, nothing else will matter.

There is no personal vendetta against Beyonce or GaGa. There will come a time when the public won't like everything they release. Gaga was nearly unstoppable and could release anything and the public would eat it. That should not be expected all the time.
Beyonce has had several duds, so I'm not even sure why people are shocked.

"RTW"...I don't think it's just terrible to Pop radio/fans. It's also doing weak on Urban radio. You can see that from the weak airplay updates, it'd at least be moving faster if Urban/Rhythmic were supporting. But overall the song is just not appealing. I was in love with the LQ recording, but really the HQ only appeased me for a few days before it got old.
@RobynYoBank; there's nothing different about Beyonce's song. She has 1,000,000 overdone female empowerment songs, and the song is a complete sample/cover of another sample. It's just not good. This isn't just about ATRL, also. Clearly.
