Parallels between two artists that probably only exist in my mind, but screw it I'm posting anyway:
First album: Worked on for years by an artist largely ignored by the label they're signed to, released by a different label to little fanfare, connects with the public and shoots the artist to stardom.
Second album: Very similar to the first in concept and theme, except bigger and more polished and accomplished. Features the artist's first smash pop hit.
Third album: Same soul as the first two albums except from a different angle. Launches the artist to super-stadom. Releases to huge sales the first week.
Fourth album: A noted departure from the first three albums but still excellent. First single is like nothing the artist has released before but is a hit anyway. The album alienates some fans, but brings in many new ones due to it exploring a different genre.
Taylor hasn't released her fifth album yet, but here's the other artist's fifth:
Fifth album: Universally acclaimed master work. Considered the artist's best album by many people.
