I'm not talking about a commercial backlash. I'm talking about the fact that her album is the sonic equivalent of a Nicholas Sparks novel, which people need some time and perspective to recognize. But they will. Not that it will hurt her -- Nicholas Sparks still sells like crazy.
Nobody even knows who Nicholas Sparks is to even draw that comparison. When I say "nobody," I mean the buying public.
And Adele has always been fairly rated with critics.
