I won't be mad if BEYONCÉ doesn't get nominated for AOTY. This site will be a mess for a month but whatever. The nominations are a mess this year and as someone pointed Bey might be the only black artist in the major categories
The album will win something but the songs may not and that's because she chose to not make herself and her music visible. Yeah, DrIL was a hit, but she did nothing with it. She was absent for damn near 90% of the era and the Grammys are about visibility, success, and acclaim.
Most of this is Beyoncé's fault tho. She let some yes man gas her up that she didn't need to promote. She's still too young for the way she acted this era.
Some of us have been blaming Bey since Feb. 2014. We said if she does no promo award season maybe dry, and dry it has been. Y'all can keep it cute. It's HER fault she didn't keep her music visible enough. She won't win AOTY, I'm almost certain. And that's if she even gets a nom.

The way she released it has nothing to do with it. It's the material that deserves the AOTY nom (and win). It's simply an incredible piece of work, even without the surprise release, and visual element.
The album deserves an AOTY win simply because, IMO, it was the best released in the nomination window. Period. The way she released it shouldn't be a factor. I hope GMC is back soon.
