Because it was ******** from start to finish.
Misty died because she was a walking deus ex machina and they realised it too late while Madison's death was one massive plot hole. Cordelia being the supreme despite being infertile is also another gaping plot hole that ruined the finale.
Zoe got impaled so Madison could refuse to revive her > Kyle could kill her > Cordelia could revive Zoe > Cordelia could become the supreme. For that to happen Misty had to die first so she couldn't just revive Zoe, because if she revived Zoe then the rest wouldn't have happened. It was all dumb.
It would've been more exciting if the colony would've killed Flora too
