MTE.
And Adele actually deserves it. She didn't need samples or 70 songwriters/producers to make 25. Bowie is great but had no impact overall, to get Album of the Year. He only died.

25 deserves to win AOTY because the one who released it don't rely on gimmicks and is honest with her work. Adele, I chose to love you!

either way, it's obvious Kendrick deserved the AOTY over Taylor but she got it, ATRL knows this.

Racial tensions are intensifying in America, so for sure, if Adele win AOTY, there will be talk about white privilege.

Well, if the so called "Miss American Dream" of this decade didn't face backlash in February, why Adele's brand would be hurt?

Let's not talk about Swift here. She is the most manufactured and calculative bitch around. She will no doubt use her new boobs to increase traffic on music videos next era. Kim Kardashian got more class.

Exactly what I was thinking. Especially since Adele's music is heavily influenced by African-American music. If 25 beats Lemonade people will be up in arms about it saying "the establishment only praises black music when white people sing it, but not when black people sing black music." Adele didn't face any huge backlash with 21, but that was 2012, now we're in 2016, and race relations have only worsened.
Tbh I'm actually a bit worried if 25 beats Lemonade for AOTY. I know she can overcome any sort of backlash, but still.

Album of the year is totally subjective. Yes, Lemonade is a great album, but so is 25 regardless if you think it's "safe" or not. What did atrl expect, some super experimental album from Adele. Personally I'm glad that 25 is pretty safe and screams Adele. In my opinion Adele had to be safe coming back after a hiatus following one of the biggest albums of all time. Lemonade is very album of the year worthy and Beyonce is a great artist but there is no reason to put down Adele because of her success and impact. Back in November, all of atrl was praising 25 and now everybody seems to hate it (most likely cuz they're jealous of Adele )
AOTY isn't even nearly as important as atrl makes it anyway. Like, 1989 over TPAB, really? I don't need a bunch of old men telling what albums are good and what aren't.

Well, if 25 wins, I guess we will find out. I was actually shocked at how little backlash Taylor had for beating Kendrick.

That's my point of view. Everybody loves and respect Adele, no matter how. I can't say the same about Taylor.

I guess Kendrick Lamar is still a rising star, so his fan base isn't as huge and as vocal as the Beyhive, and 1989 didn't really borrow from black music, so that may be why Taylor didn't face any significant backlash. I'm sure there will be a shitstorm on twitter caused by the Beyhive if Lemonade loses.
Though, when Adele came back last year there was some talk about white privilege surrounding her and her music, and seemingly most people, both black and non-black, came to her defense while acknowledging that white privilege does exist, so yeah everyone loves her. So I guess I shouldn't be too worried, she won't face any career-ending backlash, unless Adele does something very insensitive to the black community, which she wouldn't, that would be so out of character of her.

Taylor didn't beat Beyonce.
Imagine Beyonce wins, all producers, writers, ghost writers, all 100+ of them get on stage to accept the award.

Adele and 25 is the frontrunner to be honest for the AOTY. Adele's edge is her universality.
