And honestly just like that, my crush of three years (if you see my earlier post in here, you'll see the mess that it is) seems irrelevant but now this is so exciting! Though it means I'll have to stay in Japan if I want to be with him which isn't the ultimate dream... but I would if we develop I think.
I'm in Hokkaido teaching as an assistant English teacher. Most people get the job through the JET program but I managed to get a direct contract through the town's Board of Education thanks to my aunty working the same job here 20 years ago. The big flaw is the ruralness of it, which I mean has it's (few) perks but it's very lonely being the only foreigner in town, speaking only a little Japanese and no one else speaking English.
The internet must be a lifesaver... but it sounds like a really unique experience, I'd do it if I go on a gap year.

But omg get this right - I've always been really tall and skinny but I've developed a wee pot belly since living in Japan and I wasn't really concerning thinking it'd melt away once my rice consumption decrease naturally happens in the future (well, I'm hoping) but he actually said "I like your little tummy, it's cute" and I now feel like an overweight fat person and am going on a strict low-carb, high-protein diet no matter the cost.
