With primaries anyone can just run and attempt to change the party (some people will call it "hijacking"). That is what Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton did to there parties. That is what Donald Trump is trying to do (sorta) and that is definitely what Bernie Sanders is trying to do, somewhat successfully.

I wouldn't say Bernie tried to hijack the party, Needless to say that despite being an independent he caucused with the dems for decades, fund raised for them in the past and worked with them well for years. It's clear he identifies with them If anything was truly idealistic about his campaign I'd argue it's belief that Democrats behind closed doors have the same values he does of it being a progressive, inclusive party and I'm sure the truth of that has been hitting him in a very big way during his campaign.
Still the fact that he will stay on as a Democrat and will endorse Hillary if/when she gets the nomination I think definitely shows he's still very much a two party guy if for nothing else than concern over diluting the vote and ending up with how people see people voting for Nader resulting in Bush.
So her questioning whether he was a "real" Democrat while not seeming all that harsh seems to be the one attack that has legs. The idea she planted and continues to plant that he an outsider come to destroy the party has fostered a us vs them attitude in supporters. Since New York there's been quite a few variant memes based from Hillary supporters based on Sanders supporters are not wanted/welcome. It's not just the supporters though I'm sure everyone has heard about one of Hillary's staff saying "**** him" and that an organization designed to promote Hillary is claiming to be investing one million dollars into trying to discredit him - a candidate that stands apparently has practically zero chance of beating her.
I've long argued it's Hillary's camp that have done more divide their party due to their frustration some guy showed up and had the audacity to make her work for her preordained coronation and now there should be no question their camp is calling for unity while their actions send off a different signal.

Conspiracy theory. And apparently it impacted 100k voters.... and Hillary won by almost 300k anyway. Even if every single one of those voters went with Bernie (unrealistic), she would have easily won.

Number has increased but it definitely happened and De Blasio has said he's looking into it which on the one hand is surprising given how cosy with Hillary he is and how the concentration happened in an area Sanders was polling better but the cynical part of me says this is largely to placate Sanders supporters hoping the gesture will engender some positive in time to Hills in the general.
I don't think this would have been enough to beat Hillary either, I never thought he'd win NY but if he came at least close it would be a significant dent in her image.
