I was so shocked at all that early Oscar buzz b/c Madonna never struck me as an artist who can direct a good movie. A risk-taker, smart & savvy enough to work with the right people on her music, sure. But she doesn't seem to possess the raw talent that makes a good director. Her movie always looked like it was going to be a lesser version of
A Single Man - fashionable & beautiful to look at but dull & dramatically inert.
