I actually really want Nic to make music like this. It's hip hop done perfectly; it's catchy and not abrasive, but witty and makes a point. It also blends influences from different genres together, which I've always thought is such a genius approach to music. For example, Missy Elliott was an expert at merging elements of different genres and time periods together and it always sounded great.
There's a way to brag and be cocky while still being relatable and approachable. I don't need an album full of Did It On'ems and Lookin Asses. Sometimes it feels like there's an element of fluidity missing from her music and that's what I think The Man does so well.
