If they had it at 13 episodes and used that extra time to give some depth to these characters rather than see them run through the woods and scream each others' name for a collective 90 minutes, it could be top 2!

Please don't ask them again lolol the gorls literally rank the seasons every other two days but long story short. Most like it and some say its the best since Asylum.

**** no. 10 episodes has forced Ryan to finally tell a story without (too many) loose ends. The only reasons the character aren't fleshed out as much as they could is because cast number pretty much doubled by the middle of the season.
It's very much possible to not have all the characters be so vapid and still have tons of horror. Only Lee and Shelby had any modicum of story to them.
It's important to note that some of the Circles of Hell are split into three rings, so multiple seasons could be read as one circle. Also, while I Think Lust and Gluttony fit Murder House and Hotel respectively, they could both also be read as Limbo.

Heresy/Violence. The whole first half of the season was heresy; not even the director believed Shelby/Matt/Lee. And the Blairwitch kids tried to convince the cops of ghosts but they were shut down. Violence is obvious. You could make a case for anger as well.
