I don't know what they're thinking ... It's really a huge regression. The Sims 3 open world was such a huge (if not the biggest) accomplishment of that era... The Sims 4 ha ARTPOP era is upon us...

The open world was good in theory, but not in practice. Did any of y'all get more than, like, 3 sims at a lot at any time?

Well the world is still kinda open. There are only loading screens between lots, everything else will be probably be like sims 3 so i doubt that problem will be different now since i don't think sims will just spawn.
And many other problems that came with the open world weren't too hard to fix (seeing as mods were able to)
It is just sad that they took features like CASt out or make the graphics less detailed to make the game smoother and they still resort tto this Sims 2/ Sims 3 hybrid
Oh well i will look how the actual gameplay will be ( i would have hoped that after being announced for so long they would show more than their generic gameplay scenes that we have scene so many times by now) and then decide if i'll get it

The Sims brand can't bomb, it's like the only casual game remaining that anyone can pick up and play. The only way it'd bomb is if they had a disaster as large as SimCity's parameter: <string>.

One time, there were five Sims going to the hospital and they all got in each other's path, so they all just stood in front of the building and they all gave birth outside.

nn reminds me of the time my sim went into labour, so her hubby freaked out and drove to the hospital without her, then by the time he got back to the house she'd already walked halfway to the hospital.

But the biggest problem with TS3 was that there were usually so many lots where sims could go, which usually meant that they were all over the world instead of in one place. With neighbourhoods like we're getting in TS4, that's less likely to happen as there'll only be 5 active lots available for NPCs to visit.

Lmao exactly, I'd rather enjoyable gameplay at the cost of a 30 second load screen than an open world filled w/ boredom and emptiness.

I never took advantage of the open world. TBH, most of my sims I usually make never leave the house and work from home. I hope that we don't HAVE to leave the house every so days like in TS3 because I don't like when I get the "stir crazy" thing. Especially with my pregnant sims I like to have stay at home and take care.

My big issue is only 25 house lots. I hope we can place more lots like in TS2 and TS3.

They said that the community lots don't count as the 25 lots. The 25 lots are just residential. This is still more than both the first two Sims games. I just hope we have the option to add more. I also wish they would have more worlds in general. Like I want another Strangetown
