Katy Perry causes a stir even when she’s doing her best to be demure. The blue-haired babe, looking svelte in a Giambattista Valli dress, made a quiet entrance into the back room of the Weinstein Company’s pre-Oscar party at Soho House on Saturday with Johnny Lujek, but she was immediately swarmed by a group of kids at the party who looked completely gobsmacked to be in the presence of the pop star.
Perry happily traded fashion tips and took cell-phone photos with the mostly female group of fans before heading over to sit with TWC honcho Harvey Weinstein. There, she sparked reports that she and Weinstein are working on a movie together when was overheard saying, “I love to be challenged,” but a source familiar with the situation says that TWC and Perry have nothing in the works at the moment. (The company did do a video mashup of Perry’s “The One That Got Away” with scenes from its film “My Week with Marilyn” last year.)
Newly single Russell Simmons looked like he might want to develop something with Perry when he ran into her in the hallway that joined the front room of the Soho House to the backroom and asked for her phone number.
