I rather it be released in Spring, than rushed released for Fall if it seems like nothing is moving on the album front in the next few months.
At least in the Spring she'd actually be in shape (not that she isn't now, but you know there is alot of time left till Fall) since her residency would be starting
I think I've made it clear that sales aren't exactly something I care about (I mean I Stan for Ricky Martin, Kelly Rowland, Kylie, and Loreen for goodness sakes) so I wouldn't mind Spring
Britney is going back in the studio with will.i.am later next month according to Will's recent tweet -- and Britney has been recording since Summer 2012. How will the album be rushed if she's been working on it for more than a year....
Sales DO matter - I hate when people say that.
And Britney's body is already better than it was during the entire Femme Fatale era. She'll be perfect by the Fall.
Spring 2014 would be disastrous -- she needs to release this Fall.

Duca, where is the EPIC OP this base deserves?!
Are you forcing us to settle for more mediocrity?
Thanks to Britney we've settled for mediocrity since 2007....its time for a change!
If Britney TRULY promoted she could outsell any female pop star legitimately and no one would have to worry about being overshadowed.
Highly promoted "4" only outsold un-promoted "Femme Fatale" by less than 100K.
P!nk, Katy Perry, etc...etc...all put up similar numbers WITH heavy promotion.
Besides if the work is good, it will speak for itself. If Britney waits until 2014 ....can she really afford another three year release cycle? -- the faster the Femme Fatale era is erased the BETTER.
Besides Beyonce, Katy Perry, etc...are all releasing toward the summer. So far only Britney and JT are looking at the Fall -- and JT's album is a Vol. 2, no way it's going to match the near-milli of Vol. 1.
Justin's biggest promo this era was through Target (they had a successful partnership before.) He became the bestselling male artist in the history of Target.
It would take her next album to platinum with ease. I wonder if her team will pull stunts like P!nk's since they're on the same label. "The Truth About Love" has been discounted for +70% of its run at all major retailers. It's still discounted at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Target, Wallmart...
A September release would be ideal. The album would likely still be in the top 10 by the end of the year and get Black Friday + Christmas + holiday boosts in general.
She should drop the lead single in July and perform it at the VMAs. She needs to at this point.

1) "Femme Fatale" was not that successful to take such a long break. I mean take a long break when your last album becomes a super success that people can't resist for your comeback, but you don't take such a break after a low seller album. 2) The hype is dying already 3) Judging by her last 3 albums, she seems to just sell nice during the first 2 months and then her albums start to fall , so with more reason she needs to benefit from the christmas period sales to get on lock strong sales in the beginning even if the sales start to fall then.
the only bad thing, is that this year the competition is insane, everyone is releasing material, its a heavy busy year. . . but next year would be too long and a spring release would flop.
What competition? Adele is not releasing nor is Taylor. Nicki will, Katy might do it earlier, Gaga and Beyonce will release well before the end of the year and eminem will probably release earlier.
The only competition she has are random christmas albums, Nicki and Rihanna. If she releases at the end of the year and not in September like I want then she might as well do it on December 2, 2013. Nicki and Rihanna most likely will take black friday

That is because she doesn't promote
Everyone esle at least throws some single promotion, and album promotion 3 months down the line...she does ALL her promotion in the first 3 weeks
If she would throw some adequate promotion, even minimal, it wouldn't matter when she releases. So her albums will continue to see a drop off after 2 months. It has nothing to do with hype
Well, I think the main thing is to promote in the beginning as she usually does. Also, if she likes this album and Will i am lets her have creative control that she didn't have for FF ( I mean the songs she spoke about early in the project as her favorites were not chosen as singles "How I roll?, He about to lose me, Big fat waste, etc.) I'm sure she will promote the residency so we should get promotion throughout the era if they start in the spring. After the residency starts, I expect no more promotion.

She isn't going to be doing promo probably a week or two after the album release, like she always does. A Circus type of promo would be very nice though, flying to Europe to do a couple of shows there, then promote in the US during the release week and then perhaps go to Japan for some promo performances/
Britney's team needs to get her that target deal for sure. Yeah, I think the key circus type promo will work for her and then she can promote the residency in 2014 to stretch out the promo.

t's obvious they got complacent over her ability to sell without promotion and thought they good strike gold twice with Femme Fatale. They were wrong, and paid the price. Hopefully they learned their lesson, hopefully
Um, Circus was her comeback album. The hype was monumental for that one. I do think her team thought FF would work and Britney knew it wouldn't as it wasn't her original vision so she paid it dust and got back at Dr. Luke by not releasing Inside out since he use FF as a vehicle to promote his artist and his work

Britney cannot afford another Femme Fatale PR disaster.
Ugh. The album went Platinum and spawned 3 hits. She continued to break records and the GP are not looking at it as a flop. At worst, an underperformer. She had the biggest radio era of her career. I just can't see her having an uncertified studio album. If that ever happens then I agree. Vega it is...but I think she has 2-3 more albums in her before it's done for good.

As long as she can ship platinum then I am fine. At best, it will be released in September, at worst in December.

Ugh a #1 platinum album and #1 single and top 10s> multiplatinum album is more like it. The #1 department is all in the same corner.

December release so that all of her album sales go towards one billboard calendar year. She's not going to promote like crazy. She's been there done that. She has to release this year...I agree there is no way she can push this off until 2014. Are you kidding me? JT is releasing another album. Mess.

Yeah, it would also lengthen the era like a Katy/Pink era.
She'll get a summer smash and a fall hit to sell to the diehards (GMA concert series), then get a holiday boost (AMAs), then grammy's boost, then promote the residency in late winter/early spring to keep the album afloat and just release videos after the residency starts as little promo. I hope they can stretch out the era with 5-6 singles with the residency.
Uptempo summer smash, Uptempo or mid tempo fall smash, ballad winter smash, uptempo spring smash, uptempo summer smash and mid tempo fall last single.
August single release + VMA performance + October album release + Target Deal + discounts during Black Friday/Christmas + promo overseas + album/vegas promo beginning of next year = smash era.
This should happen, hopefully her team will be smart this era since they seemed to be out of touch with the world and how to sell an album during FF.
Frankly, if Era 8 isn't successful then Britney can take her ass to Vegas and kiss her relevancy goodbye.

And this, ALL OF THIS.
Thanks for saving me the trouble, especially cause I don't know how anyone could think 1 year working on an album is in any way "rushed".

110% agreed.
And btw, I know single release in JulyAugust and album in September/October + VMA performance are the best scenarios - actually, DREAM scenarios - and that's why I'm pretty much sure those aren't happening and we'll get the single in late September and the album in November.
