One of the few movies that are based on books that I absolutely cannot stand is "Shane".

Ive never understood the critical claim it recieved....they took an incredible character (in the book) and turned him into just some random, rough gunfighter tough guy. In the book he was completely different; in looks, personality, character and mystique. The movie version had nond of those things which made the book stand out. Ive always been unable to watch it all the way through.

I dont think the giver will be like that, based on what Ive seen so far.

is it just me or does Taylor's dad remind anyone else of Brendan Fraser's dad in "Blast from the Past? Where he was pacing off the yard length for a bomb shelter early in the movie and also toward the end.
