Katy Perry celebrates the Weinstein Company and Chopard during a Pre-Oscars party held at the exclusive Soho House on Saturday (February 25) in West Hollywood.
The 27-year-old singer, who brought along her stylist Johnny Wujek, was overheard telling Harvey Weinstein, “I love to be challenged.” Presumably they have a movie together in the works! Earlier this week, Katy gave us a preview of her guest-starring role on pal Shannon Woodward‘s FOX comedy Raising Hope!

"Perry happily traded fashion tips and took cell-phone photos with the mostly female group of fans before heading over to sit with TWC honcho Harvey Weinstein. There, she sparked reports that she and Weinstein are working on a movie together when was overheard saying, “I love to be challenged,” but a source familiar with the situation says that TWC and Perry have nothing in the works at the moment. (The company did do a video mashup of Perry’s “The One That Got Away” with scenes from its film “My Week with Marilyn” last year.)"
...Katy has said many times, just because she can.. that she likes to be challenged.

Thanks for pointing this out. Hopefully one day we'll see her on the big screen and with a great role.
She's everywhere these days. She seems to be the "it" girl right now with everyone wanting her at their parties and the media waiting for her next move. And we are as well

PoM is doing decent for having such a high peak. It will probably sell a little over 200k this week. Not bad for such a high debut.

LOL... http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-...s-bash-2012272
"Neil Patrick Harris was beat boxing while chef Cat Cora and David Burka sang [Snoop Dogg's] 'Drop It Like It's Hot' to sell a cooking experience during the auction," an attendee tells Us Weekly. Perry stood up and waved a bid of $50,000, with Tisch eventually offering to fork over $80,000.
"Katy emptied her purse out jokingly for the cameras before she and Steve agreed to share the prize for $100,000," the attendee adds. "Katy got up and hugged him delightedly. She seemed a bit tipsy, but not messy at all."

I think so too. Especially when you listen to Katy's Unplugged album and then Kimbra's part you can really tell it.

Katy Perry and Electronic Arts are joining forces for The Sims 3 Showtime Katy Perry Collector's Edition, a themed expansion pack for PCs and Mac out March 6 ($50, rated T for ages 13-up). Exclusive in-game items will celebrate the "California Gurl" and her colorful clothing, hairstyles, accessories and stage props.
Since 2000, EA's Sims games have let players take control of the lives of little simulated people, from their love interests to career choices and home décor. More than 150 million copies have been sold worldwide.
"I've always thought of myself as a cartoon, so I thought it wouldn't be so bad to be a Sim," Perry says in an exclusive interview. "I'm involved with The Sims because it's pure fun, and creative. And you can change my hair color even more than I do," she adds, flicking her blue 'do.
Along with downloading Perry as a playable character, gamers can play her signature guitar, wear outfits and use stage props from 2011's sold-out California Dreams tour (even the giant banana).
Requiring The Sims 3 ($30) to play, the Showtime expansion disc focuses on four performance-based careers — singer, DJ, magician and acrobat — each of which requires the Sim to work up from rags to riches. Perry says she likes the fact that there are no shortcuts to achieving success.
"I started out playing at coffee shops and on the side of the street with my guitar case open, and that's how you start in The Sims," she says. "I don't think people should think success comes easy, on a silver platter, and in The Sims it doesn't."
And things likely will go wrong as the Sim climbs the ladder of success, be it a singer falling during a performance, a magician accidentally catching fire or dissatisfied audience members tossing vegetables at the stage.
Showtime isn't Perry's first Sims involvement. The 27-year-old Santa Barbara native recorded a special version of Hot N Cold for The Sims 2 in 2008, sung in "Simlish," the gibberish language spoken by Sims. It went on to become a YouTube hit.
Corey Higgins, EA vice president of marketing, says the partnership with Perry is the most elaborate in the franchise's 12-year history. "Katy has been very involved throughout the creative process in developing the unique fashions, furniture, hairstyles, props and marketing materials," he says. "The end result truly celebrates her distinct personality and imagination."
"With anything I do, I'm involved to an annoying point; I'm a bit of a control freak," says Perry with a laugh.
Even though Perry sings about throwing away her phone in her latest single Part of Me, she considers herself quite tech-savvy. "I was always found on the Internet through MySpace, I've had a blog and I'm Twitter-savvy," she says. "If you don't adapt or adopt, you're going to miss the boat."
Music, of course, remains her top priority. On March 27, a supersized version of her 2010 hit album Teenage Dream will be released. Subtitled The Complete Confection, it will include all the songs from the original, which produced five No. 1 hits — a feat equaled only by Michael Jackson's Bad— but also features three new tracks, as well as remixes, an acoustic track and a 20-minute megamix mash-up, says Perry. "I felt like I had more to say on Teenage Dream, plus I couldn't include all the songs I wanted to on the original record."
Perry says she was most excited about one of the new songs in particular, though she wouldn't reveal which one. "I wrote and recorded it in only two days," she says. "I had to literally slap myself in the face while in the studio and tell myself to stay awake to finish it."
Perry's also secretive about a new song she's about to record, but strongly hints it's for another collaboration with The Sims that will allow you to turn your world into "Candy-fornia."

I think the first song is Wide Awake. And the second one will probably be the theme song for a new Sims Candyfornia
