Yeah, 2,000-2500 calories per day should be the norm; just stay away from fatty foods i.e. fast food. I typically snack a lot during the day (Kashi products are GOLD) but chicken, fish, turkey are great for meals and also rich in protein to make it a bit easier to reach the caloric intake. Also, protein shakes after - I do this - or before working out is also an easy way too!
