Despite its initial reaction from ATRL (whose opinion doesn't matter) it received positive reviews, became her first top 40 and first single to hit gold since 2009.

There's no denying that "Goodies" is one of Ciara's signature songs of her career. It's a shame that this is her only #1 hit as many other singles were just as deserving (could you imagine her debuting with 3 consecutive #1's?). The song was recorded as an answer song to the featured act's hit single, "Freak-a-Leek." Ci put a female spin and it soon became a girls and gay boys anthem and smash. The mastermind of this whistling crunk beat is Lil Jon which helped Ci into the Crunk&B movement and first lady title. "Goodies" is upbeat, it's intoxicating, infectious and sexy. This is where it all started, in 2004 you could not escape this track and 10 years later Ciara is still persistent as ever.
Aw, bye Goodies. But yeah, Overdose has got to go.
I requested Goodies at my high school post-graduation party last year and everyone got on the floor. A timeless pop dance floor anthem.
I love Goodies to death, both the song and the album but don't you guys think the nostalgia takes a toll on the people that say it's the greatest thing she's ever done or that it was the only time they stanned?
This is a nice placement imo. We got the ATRL acclaimed "Overdose" vs the former "Like A Boy" vs the R&B classic "Promise" vs the gem "Oh".
