the verses, which are not all that hard to sing, were fine. the first chorus was a little but otherwise, it was fine imo. she did do much better at the hotel cafe, but she'll get more consistent with practice.
I mean, the GP has shown it doesn't care if its pop stars can't sing live as long as they have good stage presence (lol). If she can up her stage presence more and improve her live singing just a tad, she'll be fine.
Hopefully she doesn't try dancing while she sings unless she can nail it.
I mean, yeah the "American Girl" performance was not that great, but the mash-up was awesome, I was impressed, she def. can sing, she just needs to control her breath imo.
That performance was the most nervous I've ever seen her. She was really self-aware (just look at her face) and it definitely threw off her vocals. This was her first time performing her the studio version of her own single in front of a crowd though. So it's understandable. (Plus most of the song is just too damn high.) I'm also blaming how abrasively loud her mic was compared to the music/backing vocals.
She was fine in the mash-up though, which I think shows she's more comfortable at a piano. Plus there's no pressure in singing other people's songs... (And those songs are just a lot easier to sing in general)

I think for future, big-time performances, she just needs to alter the octave of "American Girl" down a bit.
Bonnie is performing at a radio concert at my local theme park! They promote the hell out of artists at their shows, so they're already playing American Girl!
Heard this on a local radio station! I can really see this smashing if it's released to iTunes. It's a perfect summer anthem! I'm rooting for this girl to smash.
Bonnie tweeted about quite a few different stations adding "American Girl." So I'm hoping it'll get quite a few spins before the official adds date on the 15th.

I'm hoping the song hits ITunes this upcoming Tuesday, but wouldn't be surprised if they waited until after the adds date and released it the 16th.
I like this but she is going to find it hard to establish herself because she have sold her sound to so many other artists she is going to be compared to them her entire career and people won't care that she wrote and co-wrote the songs that sound like her own music all they will care about is that the niche for that music is filled.
The video for "American Girl" is at 685k views. Should pass 700,000 by tonight. It's a solid number, but I'm hoping it picks up as the song grows.
Bonnie also just passed 90,000 Twitter followers today.
