 | #80: Leona Lewis / I To You
I would run, I would jump, I would fall, just to make sure baby's got it all
It's surprising to me that this track grew on me as much as it did in 2012. It's basically just a piano track with a big chorus; Leona's signature sound, basically. I've really grown to love it. I also like the percussion, it's different. This song is a puzzle piece to this amazingly bizarre album.

 | #79: Havana Brown / City of Darkness
There's one thing we know, whoa-oh-oh; that nothing lasts forever
Havana Brown is pretty basic, but when she can throw out incredible bangers like this track, I can't help but give in and eat it up. It's simple-minded electronica when it boils down to it, but I really got into this track in 2012 just because of that. It's a RedOne gem.

 | #78: Lana Del Rey / Puppy Love
I'll do my summer pose, golden sand between my toes
I can't believe this lies unreleased. It's such an amazing track full of American one-liners that Lana is best at, but they're even more American than usual This song literally throws me back to the summertime, and I have so many memories with it. Such an amazing track
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

 | #77: Madonna / Bang Bang
Used to think it was you who was so unstable; now I'm surely close behind
Let me just take a second to PRAISE this Solveig-produced DIAMOND. I understand that it was scrapped for Gang Bang (didn't make my top 200) and wouldn't fit well on MDNA, but damn, it slays half the album with, like, 4 instruments total. One of the best things to come from this era.

 | #76: Wynter Gordon / Kids
I learned to forgive, let go of the pain; but you're holding onto the past
This song is purely beautiful. Easily in my top ten of lyrical masterpieces this year, I adore the emotion captured in this track and has made me respect Miss Gordon a great deal more. The track is about a friend of hers that she once adored and became a monster. It's incredible.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

 | #75: Lana Del Rey / American
I don't even know what I'm saying, but I'm praying for you
This is easily one of the best songs Lana has put out, absolutely in the top 5. Not only does it have the signature Lana vocal style, production and lyrics, it mixes it up in a few ways that I can't quite put my finger on. All I know is that I adore this track and it reminds me of fall
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

|
 | #74: Brandy / Slower
I got a vision of us, and there's a kiss with every touch
This Switch-produced JAM is probably one of the best R&B tracks EVER, and I know that's a long shot, but I just can't help how much of a bump it truly is. It's just so groovy and FLAWLESS. Brandy really impressed me with this track. I need it to be the next single, not Wildest Flop.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

|
 | #73: Leona Lewis / Lovebird
'Cause they say if you love something, let it go let it go let it go
This record is one of the best vocally-showcasing pop tracks of 2012 and the fact that it flopped is not only horrendously sad, but extremely confusing. It's an incredible track in every single way. It's infectious, has great lyrics, great production... such a lost gem
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 64 / Released: 2012 / Leona Lewis' Top 200 Appearance: 4 of 6
|
 | #72: Neon Hitch / Poisoned With Love
I'll keep walking on broken glass for you-oo-oo-oOoOo
Though I figure this track will be snubbed from Neon's debut, it's an excellent showcase of her writing and vocal abilities. She hits every note magically and it's almost effortless. The song itself is about giving too much in a relationship, essentially, and Neon does it amazingly.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 30 / Released: 2011 / Neon Hitch's Top 200 Appearance: 5 of 9
|
 | #71: Madonna / Girl Gone Wild
Girls they just wanna have some fun, get fired up like smokin' gun
I liked this song a lot when it debuted, and as time went on I noticed more and more that it's not really that strong of a track. However, I still love it. I remember once I was driving over a bridge, and just as she finished a prayer and the bassline came in, lightning flashed across the sky.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 63 / Released: 2012 / Madonna's Top 200 Appearance: 7 of 10
|
 | #70: Christina Aguilera / Cease Fire
The trigger that I never squeeze, the war that brings me to my knees
I can't understand how anyone can actually dislike this track, it's easily one of Xtina's strongest tracks on Lotus, and it impresses and gives me hope in her career, honestly. It's a profound, lyrically-excellent ballad that's not only thematic, but a completely gorgeous anthem.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 52 / Released: 2012 / Christina Aguilera's Top 200 Appearance: 5 of 6
|
 | #69: Sabi / Goodnight
Anything that ya need, come & see me, & I'mma getcha where ya wanna be
This song makes me a little sad that Sabi will probably never happen. It's some kind of tribal electronic KNOCK and I never hesitate to explode it on a pair of speakers and dance along and lip to the tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Poor Sabi, if only Luke paid you in something other than dust.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 31 / Released: 2010 / Sabi's Top 200 Appearance: 2 of 2

 | #68: Ke$ha / Warrior
We were born to break the doors down, fight until the end
This is everything I could want in a Ke$ha track. Though it's far from her best on Warrior, it's definitely one of my favorites. The lyrics may be cringe-worthy at times but that's exactly what we expect from Ke$ha. She makes it work. And it's great.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Plays total: 52 / Released: 2012 / Ke$ha's Top 200 Appearance: 6 of 12
|
 | #67: Nelly Furtado / Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)
I can go fast, I can go slow, I can go places nobody else goes
I used to hear this while doing dishes at work and wonder why it wasn't taking off I really got into it in the fall, and though I guess I do understand why it flopped, it's not too lyrically sound. Nelly is a little ahead of the curve, though; no one is doing music like this. Props to this BOP.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Album: The Spirit Indestructible / Album Ranking: #24
Plays total: 48 / Released: 2012 / Nelly Furtado's Top 200 Appearance: 1 of 2
|
 | #66: Cyndi Lauper / Into the Nightlife
Got this endless itch to ride, into the night
This play count to impact ratio is SO screwed up. I'll always remember this song and associate it with 2012 for many reasons. My friends and I all loved it this year, and it's the best song to just turn up really loud and play for anyone, really. It's such a great track. Cyndi is the best.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Album: Bring Ya to the Brink / Album Ranking: N/A
Plays total: 14 / Released: 2008 / Cyndi Lauper's Top 200 Appearance: 2 of 2

 | #65: Marina & the Diamonds / Power & Control
You may be good looking, but you’re not a piece of art
This seems like typical Marina, sneaking an actually important message into a heavy pop track. It's too bad that it completely flopped, but then again she is being completely mishandled this era Either way, this song is so easy to love. I can shout and dance along with it. Perfect.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Since I won't be able to update tomorrow, I'm making the date for this update tomorrow's date
And I decided to add 5 to this update and the next update since I've been missing days
here and there, I've been really busy and finals week is coming up Oh well
It's actually beginning to feel like a crime to put numbers this low for songs like this
That just shows how much music I've listened to and ADORED this year, honestly.
And a huge lesson learned is that play count doesn't always equate to memorability and adoration.
Thanks everyone for participating in my countdown!

Girl Gone Wild is one of my fav from MDNA.
It has some really catchy hooks. Too bad
that it under performed
Power & Control is the song which made me
want to listen to her album. Of course, I had
listened to Primadonna before, but Power & Control
is just on another level. It's perfect and I love
the message.
Nice set

P&C is very good and unexpected, and for once, Marina puts a message in her song without
having it come across as tacky and cheap, i.e. Sex Yeah, half of her debut, Hypocrites

Puppy Love is adorable I used to be insanely pressed about its' snub, but I understand a little now.
Lovebird is SO good. And I To You is just as much of a masterpiece.
