CHART FOR WEEK ENDING DECEMBER 13TH
ALBUMS CHART:
Chart Beat (Chart Summaries):
- "Last Christmas" hops right back up to #1, and bumps Ariana's other Christmas carol "Snow In California" down to #3. This marks, "Last Christmas" 3rd week at #1 -- making it the first song to spend 3 weeks at #1 since "Baby I" bowed the record-breaking 8 weeks at #1, and "Keep On Lookin" bowed 3 weeks at #1 in July before it.
-"Birthday" makes an impressive jump all the way to #2, earning Hype Top Gainer awards. It fell off the chart last week, but now lands it's 8th week charting. Will it join the elite group of songs to chart 10+ weeks?
- HYPED DEBUTS: "Beware" comes in at an impressive #4, leading "Take A Picture" the few month old song by Carly Rae Jepsen at #5. I've had the song for awhile, but it's one of those songs you pay dust to then hear again and fall in love. Hopefully it can sustain a 2nd week.
Behind The Scans (Sales Summaries):
-"Sexxx Dreams" reaches Platinum, bringing in another Platinum single for Gaga. Although, "Last Christmas" seems to be in the lead for 2x Platinum first with 1,800,000 units this week climbing back to #1. "Tik Tik Boom" slowly ticks past Gold, and so does "Come On Over".
- "Confessions" becomes Gold with 900,000 units as do ARTPOP, as they switch positions on the chart this week and Confessions holds it's first week at #1.
Upcoming:
- I launched my Best of 2013! Get in if you haven't!
- In 2014 I will post new rules/information that will take effect during 2014 on my Top 10. Some of the things I am deciding on: Extending Top 10 to a Top 20+, Changing Sale Amounts for Songs, Changing Formula for songs Debuting, Leaks/Unreleased/etc being allowed to chart, etc.
- The albums chart re-vamp comes with a popularity in album listening for me, and a better way to track it. Another chart sneak peek, is that "Recurrent Songs" may make a return, where I rank the Top 10 songs of the week I listened to which came out before 2013.
- Recurrent songs may possibly be given it's own certification system.
Chart Guide:
Hyped Debut = Top Debut of Week
Gain in Hype = Top Climb of Week
Decline in Hype = Top Fall of Week
Box with + = Charting Position Last Week
Box With Clock = Weeks Charting on Top 10
Box with Mountain = Song's Peak on Chart.
Certifications:
Sexxx Dreams - Platinum
Tik Tik Boom - Gold
Come On Over - Gold
Albums:
Confessions - Gold
With the Albums Chart holding over, I'd like to re-launch another chart. During the Summer for a few weeks, I had a 'Recurrent Songs' for songs too old to chart on my Top 10. I'm bringing that back for now, and with doing that it will only be under collapse instead of having it's own chart -- the charts are to focus on newer material.
Recurrent Songs (Songs too old to chart on my Top 10!)
Recurrent Songs Ending 12/13/13:
#1: Baby Boy - Beyonce [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#1]
#2: Last Christmas - Ashley Tisdale [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#2]
#3: Hair - Ashley Tisdale [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#3]
#4: Picture Perfect - Chris Brown [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#4]
#5: Show Me - Usher [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#5]
#6: Take Your Hand - Usher [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#6]
#7: Get Busy - Sean Paul [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#7]
#8: That's What It's Made For - Usher [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#8]
#9: Oh Santa! - Mariah Carey [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#9]
#10: This Ain't Sex - Usher [WEEKS:1] [PEAK:#10]
Songs that are too old to chart on my Top 10 are available to chart on 'Recurrent Songs'. There is no limit, an artist can have 8 songs chart here -- or a song from 1993. To chart on my main chart, your song has to be released in 2013. In 2014, only songs from the last 6 months each month will be allowed to chart (In January 2014, only songs from July 2013 -January 2014 will be allowed) otherwise you chart here.

CHART FOR WEEK ENDING DECEMBER 20TH
ALBUMS CHART:
Chart Beat (Chart Summaries):
- "Last Christmas" spends a 4th week atop the summit, becoming Ariana's second song to spend more than 3 weeks -- also making her the first artist to achieve that. Can it come for "Baby I"s record 8 weeks at #1? In the meantime, "Snow In California" from her drops 3-9 in it's 3rd week, with a steep decline it becomes Hyped Decline of the Week.
-"Birthday" spends yet -- a 3rd week at #2. The longest time at #2 for a song most likely, will it ever get that #1 -- despite spending almost 10 weeks on the countdown? If it spends a 10th week, it will be the 10th song to do -- and the 3rd from the 10 to never reach #1 if it doesn't.
- HYPED DEBUTS: BEYONCE makes a huge splash for the artist, with 3 debuts -- Blow, Partition, and Mine. The new race is which ones will survive next week -- and can any go Top 3? Slowly treading behind her -- Britney Spears debuted #5 with "It Should Be Easy" f/ Will.i.am, the duo reached #1 in 2012 with Scream & Shout.
Behind The Scans (Sales Summaries):
-"Birthday" reaches 3x Platinum with directly 3,000,000 total this week -- becoming the 10th song to also get that achievement of 3x Platinum+. "Last Christmas" hits 2x Platinum with another week in Top 3, going to 2,300,000 total -- also giving it a chance to hit the 3x Platinum+ club this Winter.
- On the albums chart, a new record is set --- every title charting reaches a new certification this week, being a first ever. In the lead is "Confessions" at 1,300,000 total with 400,000 in it's 2nd week. "ARTPOP" also reaches Platinum, but the big surprise -- Beyonce's 2003 effort reaches #1 this week over her 2013 album. Both still settle for Gold though, a win-win -- also making her the only artist to ever have 2 albums certified and in the same week.
Upcoming:
- In 2014 I will post new rules/information that will take effect during 2014 on my Top 10. Some of the things I am deciding on: Extending Top 10 to a Top 20+, Changing Sale Amounts for Songs, Changing Formula for songs Debuting, Leaks/Unreleased/etc being allowed to chart, etc.

- Recurrent songs may possibly be given it's own certification system.
- Albums charts MAY extend to a Top 10, not likely though.
