The football players were either buff or beefy - the ones on varsity anyway! And a lot of people turn 18 during senior year, whether it's the first semester or the second semester. The basketball players usually had washboard abs and nice pecs - in my grade anyway.
Besides, last year's senior class (Before mine) looked nothing like twinks - football OR basketball - even the dance team guy didn't look like a twink.
