But that's not a picture of Veep, aka the best Comedy Series according to the Emmys. Eastbound and Down is awful, Danny McBride is so annoying.

Emmys gets it wrong more often than they get it right, and E&D went under the radar but was still praised. Seethe, Danny is a comedic genius.
Eastbound is much better than VEEP, which sucks. It seems the GP also agrees since it has a higher IMDb score.

IMDB is famously skewed because mostly straight white men vote on it. There are articles on fivethirtyeight about it, it's a fact. They famously down vote any shows and movies with female leads. It's okay not to like intelligent comedy, though, it's your preference and right. I like silly comedies, too, like Broad City and shows like American Dad.

I just read the article on that site, interesting. A lot of the shows in the gender-separated charts are kind of trash (e,g. Sex & The City is garbage, so's Star Wars: Clone Wars). These are some weird stats though. Shows like 90210/Gossip Girl suck; but Buffy the Vampire Slayer does great on the male side of the spectrum.
I'm a straight black female and gave E&D a perfect 10 rating Veep is corny tbh. Broad City fell off, American Dad is cool. There's MUCH better brainy comedies, like Silicon Valley.

I'm not much a fan of Silicon Valley, but I disagree about Broad City falling off, the last season was my favorite yet! And I love American Dad, it's probably my favorite animated comedy! And I don't find Veep corny, but to each their own. Are you excited about Vice Principals? HBO has a few new comedies coming soon besides that one, Insecure looks great, and so does Divorce and High Maintenance.
And I think men like Buffy for the hot chicks and action, I think that's why it's an outlier.

I can see that! I'm excited for every HBO comedy! I need to watch The Comeback, I hear nothing but good things. Insecure & Vice Principals are what I'm most hyped for.
I've just recently started watching Buffy but you're probably right.

I've heard such great things about The Comeback, I still need to check it out! And I just checked, Vice Principals actually premiered last night! Have you seen it, yet? And I remember when Showtime had all the great comedies, like Weeds, Nurse Jackie, The Big C, and United States or Tara, but now HBO definitely has the comedy corner on lock! Showtime did have a great one last year, but they cancelled it already, it was called Happyish. Have you ever seen Bored to Death? I'm still sad that it got cancelled, it was great.
Have you checked out Casual on Hulu? That's one of my favorite comedies right now, I love it so much. Difficult People is also great.

I'm gonna try to wait until VPs season is over before I watch it. The only one of those Showtime shows I've seen is United States of Tara, which was great. I've seen like 5 episodes of Weeds. Bored To Death's cancellation was sad, HBO cancels shows right as they've improved (How To Make It In America is another one).
The network that collectively makes my favorite comedies atm is FX though.

I checked out The Comeback after the reviews too, wasn't blown away.. it's just okay, some episodes made me laugh out loud.. others not so much.
Broad City's premiere episode this past season was one of it's best episode yet though! Are you kidding? That scene where Abbi gets stuck to the moving vehicle, and the art room scene with the ink? I can't wait for it to return.

Abbi has become the awk female version of a straight man character in a Judd Apatow movie & Illana is basically a parody of herself it's now. The Hilary episode was just a fail. 2 season wonder; next!

Weeds is amazing, I adore all 8 seasons, unlike some people who think it went downhill after season 3. And I was so sad that Bored to Death got canceled, it was hilarious! And my favorite comedies are mostly on Netflix nowadays it seems. Orange (which is a comedy and a drama, really), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Grace & Frankie, Master of None, etc. Netflix is my favorite content provider in general nowadays, it also has the best drama currently airing imo, House of Cards, and it has the amazing Marvel shows, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage is coming out in September which I'm so excited for. But Hulu has some great comedies, like Casual and Difficult People and The Mindy Project.

Season 3 is my favorite! The premiere was amazing, and I loved the Hillary episode so much! And omg, the soulstice games episode was so funny, and the rat episode is possibly my favorite Broad City episode ever. And the one where Abbi is having dinner with Trey and Ilana's family at the same time was classic!

I'm still so sad that it got cancelled, that show was glorious and super unappreciated.
