"***Flawless" is so incredible. I'm amazed—and proud and grateful—that a pop star would record such a blatantly feminist song as that. (Which makes the nonsensical remix all the more of a travesty.) I really want to put it on my list, but it feels like a cheat since it didn't get the proper single treatment.
Wildest Dreams is so heavenly Quite dark too. I love the bridge so much!
Right? I love the sexual references. "his clothes are in my room".

Girl is alright, i prefer Sleep Sound tbh, At this point of my life i prefer Jamie solo over The xx.
I'm kinda starting to lean that way too. I like both of The xx's albums but Jamie's songs this year were so much more impactful and felt stronger. I'm ready for his album.
This song came crashing down onto my list because frankly its just perfect. A piano ballad with a husky nostalgic vocal delivery and honest lyrics, it talks about his transition to Hollywood and into the music industry. I can't wait for his album to come in 2015, and you'll probably see more of him on next year's best of list.

Lydia Ainsworth - "Hologram"
Another magical, mystical song from Lydia. There's a lot going on int this song and it feels very expansive. The lyrics themselves have a fantastical quality to them as well and her vocals have a very heavenly tone throughout. You can pretty much consider this like the soundtrack to a fairytale world or an alternate dimension of some sort - really interesting listening experience.

FKA Twigs - "Pendulum"
And speaking of fantastical songs, "Pendulum" is one of the most other-worldy listening experiences I've had all year. Its the addicting pin-prick precise production that hooks you in really. I've tried listening to this song in various different ways and revel in the fact that its always a new experience. There are sooooo many intricacies to this song that even today i'm discovering new elements. She's a musical genius.

Caribou - "Silver"
From the very second that beat kicks in, i'm hypnotized in this melodic whirlwind of romance and heartbreak. His vocals add to the eerie, mystical quality, and this is one of those songs I could listen to endlessly and still feel that it was timeless.

Todd Terje (feat. Bryan Ferry) - "Johnny And Mary"
So here I am getting my life to Todd Terje's album when all of a sudden the tempo changes and I sit up in my chair. It figures the only song with actual vocals ends up as my favourite (I felt kind of generic for this but too bad). Like all of the songs in this section of my top ten, this one feels so haunting like a spirit is retelling a piece of folklore laced over a subtlety beautiful airy beat.
Flying Lotus (feat. Kendrick Lamar) - "Never Catch Me"
Woo what a monumental song! If you're looking for something to leave you breathless listen to this. It uses the same concepts throughout You're Dead! of twisted electronic symphonies intermixed with hip hop and jazz and soul elements combined with Kendrick's rap in a subdued feel. It starts with a mesmerizing piano intro and then the beat kicks in and i'm slayed.

iamamiwhoami - "shadowshow"
Even before I decided to include blue in my albums list, this album closer was high on my songs list. The melodies are stunning here and the production is so atmospheric and beautiful. I feel like with this album, iamamiwhoami leaned more pop-friendly and it was a move that was admired by me. It made it so that the songs left even longer lasting impressions on me. I've listened to this on repeat for hours before - its so good.

St. Vincent - "Prince Johnny"
This is her best song ever. It effortlessly combines all of her best elements and is the cinematic centrepiece of her self-titled. Looking into the lyrics its also one of her best moments of songwriting. I may still prefer Strange Mercy but nothing is coming close to this perfection.
#2
Taylor Swift - "Blank Space"
No Spotify for you!
This is her best non-Begin Again single, and the best song on the radio of 2014.
#1
FKA Twigs - "Two Weeks"
From the very very first moment I heard this POWERFUL, raw, sexual anthem I was hooked. So strong, so bold, so confident. Such a twisted intricate production. BAM! The Best Song of 2014.
Omg, this is a great top ten! I need to check out #10, but I love each and every track from #1 - #9.
I was hoping to see someone give Lydia a shoutout, and seeing Shadowshow in your top five was also a pleasant surprise. I just might agree with you on Prince Johnny being St. Vincent's best song to date.
