It's a little more than that. When you have some of the biggest celebrities backing a product you'll expect to see a little more traction it doesn't have to be huge but at least more subscribers. Had they made strong gains there would be a different facet to this argument. Not to mention streaming is already mainstream.
The media backlash is warranted. The marketing is one of th worse things I've ever seen from a company. Instead of including the consumer, they made it about th artists. Who'll then make a song about how much money they make. Talk about a slap in th face. People don't like to see rich people want more money. That's not how you win customers , not to mention this isn't the best of times to do that.
If this was just Jay talking about how this will benefit the customer along with how it I'll build a stronger relationship with the music it would've been better. The fake grassroots promo didn't help either.
