I don't understand why Electronic Dance Music is automatically considered generic by people here. The work and time put into producing many of these songs is much greater than that of other genres of music.

A lot of stations are confirming to be playing it at the top of the hour, every hour tomorrow. That, plus his relationship with iHeartRadio -- I think it's safe to say that's set in stone. But we really won't until Billboard says it/or otherwise in their chart article when it debuts Wednesday (considering it garners enough A.I., like"We Are Never Getting Back Together").

I don't really know/think exclusive to iTunes means anything for the artist.. he'll probably just get extensive promotion on the store, adverts on their website/products, etc.

EDM in comparison to the other genres is literally limitless in the sounds you can create and manipulate. It's the most diverse genre as a result because saying something is EDM is extremely vague when you consider all the artists/sub-genres that are grouped under it. The problem is almost every smash hit relies on some generic dance formula when there's really no need for it at all...

I would hope JT is better than that and by that .. I mean a generic mess. EDM on it's own is fine.

Not too mention dance is such a wide basically nonsensical category. Sexy Back was a dance song for example. What they mean is that electropop stuff by redone, dr. Luke and guetta which everyone now does. I agree with them that JT should always do his own thing and stay ahead of the curve. Im not sure if I could really imagine him having dubstep breakdowns in his music. However, we'll see I thought FS/LS was a great combination of Prince, disco, urban, r&b and pop. Although urban and r&b hasnt been big with pop radio recently so I hope he does well.

They're really missing out, Madeon is a fantastic EDM artist who's music sounds fresh
