You see how I Wanna Dance with Somebody, How Will I Know and Greatest Love of All sHOT back up in every European iTunes chart after Whitney's passing?
Yeah.
That's not happening for Janet when she goes.
How the **** do you know what will happen when Janet passes away? No wait, why would you even think about morbid thoughts such as those? And to be boasting about post-death accolades in the first place is out of this world.

Where are the dance shows in honor of Janet? American Idol, X Factor and The Voice are all made looking for the NEXT Whitney not Janet. They sing Whitney's songs NOT Janet's. Every female since 1990 has Whitney as an influence from Mariah, Toni and Celine to Brandy, Monica and Christina to Lady Gaga, Rihanna and JoJo. I'M NOT HERE FOR FAIRYTALES, LIES & RUMORS!!!!! You gerls better get your life and SPEAK ****ING FACTS!!!
Janet being better than Diva Originale MY BLACK ASS!!!!! Am fuming over that MESS!!!!!!
Hasn't Whit's label been saying she sold over 200M records for the longest time? And haven't they said she's the best-selling female? It would look pretty ridiculous if she hadn't sold 200M and they still called her that when Madonna and Celine sold so much more.
20 Y.O. was supposed to be a comeback album too. Even if Janet didn't say so. It was an obvious ploy for nostalgia sales.
I forgot Just Whitney was such a bomb. That's a good point.
Whitney, prior to her most recent studio album, was reported to have sold 170 million records. Even after she has passed, she won't cross the 200 million mark.
She was a one point the biggest selling female artist, but Madonna wouldn't sit her ass down. Even in her low points, Whitney was a joke in the industry. Sure people praised her, just like they did Janet, but she was the druggie who lost her voice.
I'll give you 20YO. It was just too soon, and the wrong type of material.
Sweetie you can throw your hate out the window. Crazy in Love is a pop STANDARD and always will be, the fact that it is THE MOST CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED pop song by a female artist OF ALL TIME speaks volumes. It has already placed on ALL TIME lists and it isnt even 10 years old yet, one of the most recognizable songs ever.
Single Ladies. nugh said!
All it takes is one, and she has TWO songs that will NEVER be forgotten!
Not to mention Halo, Irreplaceable and the songs she has yet to make.
Her name makes mountains fall, people rise to their feet, Beyonce the name alone is legendary.
Dont act new.
!!!!!
The fact that EVERY up and coming female artist is compared to BEYONCE says a lot about her place. Not only is a song like Crazy In Love a pop standard, SHE is THE pop standard of these times. None of the other young black female artists, hell not even the white ones like Britney and Christina are besting her status despite their fast rise to fame.
Beyonce is the way, the light, and the truth! Ya heard me gurls?
Da TruF!
are all over iTunes in various countries, Janet cannot be found in the top 1000. And thats not shade, but it applies to this thread so I hope bitches dont get testy.
IDK what you are cackling at but Whitney was a model before she was even a popular singer. Every body talked about how beautiful she was.... she never had plastic surgery to butcher her God given looks.
Her voice is acclaimed and iconic songs are acclaimed. Her vocal performances are acclaimed. When the last time Janet was acclaimed FOR ANYTHING other than her D List Nutrisystem commercials?
Three different ways of saying "she was pretty" on the "she was good at everything" list. Calm your ****. Surgery or not, Jan was a goddess.
Warning-worthy. Don't get angry, now. Janet's ALBUMS are acclaimed. You know, the stuff that critics really care about.
Yall gonna stop lol Whitney and Janet together area amazing. I always had a vision of Whitney, Mariah, Janet, Madonna, and Celine presenting at the Grammys for Album of the Year lol.
Every thing you said just basically translated to irrelevant. That doesn't make one a legend. And what "hate"? I said she's a icon, which isn't a bad thing. And as I said earlier, her music, performances, videos, etc. won't stand the test of time like a Madonna or Michael Jackson. 'Vogue' alone is more iconic than her entire discography.
No, it really isn't. Janet has had at least as much influence on music as Whitney. She just doesn't get the credit she deserves.
It's easy to look at The Voice and American Idol and point to Whitney as their raison d'être. But people who are ALREADY household names in the industry--who didn't need a talent show to make it to the top--are here because of Janet. Britney, Aaliyah, Rihanna(!), Ciara, Missy Elliott and many more were heavily influenced by Janet. That speaks volumes, to me. We don't need a show to find "the next Janet" because her legacy has already been shining in so many other women.
Chile bye with these delusions because the people you name that has been influenced by Jan are barely talented themselves minus Li and Missy. Whitney had the world as her oyster from 1986 - 2000. Whitney's personal life has NOTHING to do with her career achievements. She is human as every one of us are. When it came to the music, Whitney always delivered success with RECEIPTS to match. Janet's music receipts have all come back NULL & VOID since 2004. She's working with Tyler Perry for ****'s sake... tell me if that ain't the stench of being a has been.
The thing is Ace would DRAG Whitney musically for Janet anyday, but this is about impact and legacy. Janet has a strong one, but it doesnt come close to that of Whitney or Beyonce, im sorry but its true. Its like Madonna vs Britney & Christina, you know the three of them are all strong but two stand above the other one, then you argue the big two forever and ever because of timing.

I've read a lot of delusional post on the site filled with teenagers but this takes the cake.
Mountains fall? Those mountains didn't move an inch this era.
If Whitney's rubric was more prevelant, powerhouses like Jennifer Hudson would be the bigger stars than girls like Beyonce and Rihanna. You gotta do more than just sing, and that's in part due to Janet.

but that doesn't make her name bigger, just her influence. the two don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. Like I already explained previously, with Donna having greater influence over pop stars but not necessarily being the bigger name (than Diana).
The influence is what determines who is the "ultimate", though.
Also, Rihanna is arguably the biggest black sex symbol of all time, so that should help her out.
Being a sex symbol and being sexy are two different things. Rihanna is sexy, but she is no sex symbol...let alone of all time A sex symbol is an icon, representing a fine woman. JJ in her prime would get shout outs in hip hop songs ('...Put Me On A Planet, Dammit, Where All The Sistas Look Like Janet'). That's a sex symbol. Beyonce gets that as well ('Now all the Beyonces, and Lucy Liis...').
Pam Grier, Josephine Baker, those are some of the biggest black sex symbols of all time. ****ing Rihanna...this place is insane
It's not about being a psychic. She's not a "legend" by any means. Some of her own stans refer to her music as "*****-poppin anthems" one would have to be redundant to think that type of music will stand the test of time like Madonna's and Michael's discography has. To label anyone a legend at 30 years of age is comical.
Its not happening while she is alive either sis. She is DONE!!! Her and those tired ass 1986 dance moves that she can barely hobble and do. Janet better march across that stage and give PRAISE to Michael if it wasn't for him, she'd be a FLOP nobody just like Rebbie and Tito.
Get your life at Whitney breaking records in LIFE and in DEATH!!! When is Janet gonna do it? Don't worry, I will wait just like Janet is waiting to be relevant again.
Playboy. Are you really going to say THAT when the Nothing But Love tour is there for the posting?
