Album Review:
Jennifer Lopez made a comeback with her much-awaited album which was recorded for about two years. The album Love? simply talks about the word itself being expressed in most of the tracks for this record. The album starts with the infectious worldwide hit ‘On The Floor’. It is clearly the best track of the album as Jennifer introduces the epicness of ‘Lambada’ to the new generation of party people. The grower auto-tuned track ‘Good Hit’ would probably become another smash dance hit of the entire music video was released. I’m asking what ever happened to it? The follow-up second single ‘I’m Into You’ had failed to match the success of the first single; though it remains to be one of my favorite tracks where Jennifer sings that irresistible “Na na na na eh”. (What Is) Love? clearly states the obvious as Jennifer searches for her love as wants him to show him what it is supposed to be while the Dream produced track ‘Run The World’ is an underrated track. One of the catchiest dance songs of the album ‘Papi’ just wants you to dance; this is what the old Jennifer Lopez showed us in the early 2000’s and I’m glad she released this as a single. ‘Until It Beats No More’ is such a heart-whelming track and I really fell in love with this song where it talks about never stop loving that someone until the very end. I’ll probably skip ‘One Love’ as it’s not one of my favorite tracks and let’s go to ‘Invading My Mind’ on which really caught my attention especially the intro part. Jennifer sings with sexy and naughty vocals for ‘Villain’ while the standard album ends with another ballad in disguise for ‘Starting Over’. The Lady Gaga collaboration for ‘Hypnotico’ is one of the standouts of the album; this should definitely be included on the official tracklist as well as being released as a single. It will be a sure fire hit. Other brilliant bonus tracks includes the auto-tuned ‘Everybody's Girl’, the energy-leveled ‘Charge Me Up’ and the hip hop tune ‘Take Care’. Based on my opinion, Jennifer had an amazing 2011, being an American Idol judge and with the release of Love?, it no doubt she remains to be one of my favorite artist for a long time now.

Album Review:
Finally, the album of the year has been revealed here in my list and it truly deserve to be as high as my #4 because of its huge success all throughout this year. Adele clearly owned 2011 with the record breaking album for 21 and I must say this is indeed a masterpiece. Adele managed to write an entire album dedicated to his past relationship talking about pain, regrets and heartbreaks. ‘Rolling In The Deep’, the song of the year, starts the story of regret of being together as Adele sings “We could’ve had it all, rolling in the deep, you had my heart inside of your head”. The next track ‘Rumour Has It’ needs a couple of plays for me to like it and it worked. The song is dedicated to her friends who are spreading rumors regarding her break-up. ‘Turning Table’ is a power ballad on which it is a perfect background for an emotionally-tiring relationship while the mood shifts to reflection and heartbreak on ‘Do You Remember’, on which it is about a love that has no closure as Adele remembers the past. The future hit ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ is waiting in the wings to be the next #1 single. For this track, it tells about the contradiction of the elements of a relationship and the impossibility of letting go. One of the upbeat track ‘He Won’t Go’ incorporates hip hop and contemporary R&B tunes while the piano ballad ‘Take It All’, one of my personal favorites talks about letting your love go away. Adele’s vocals sound mesmerizing here. The next tune ‘I’ll Be Waiting’ is about hoping that someday your former love will love you once again while on ‘One And Only’, Adele proves that she is the one worthy of her interest’s love. She also did a cover of The Cure on the track ‘Lovesong’ which adds a boss nova flavor. The song is dedicated to her mother and close friends who she finds peace. The album closer at the same time the heartbreaking track ‘Someone Like You’ will definitely get into your heart whenever you hear it. It’s about a girl telling to her previous love after seeing each other in awhile, that she will find someone else to love like him. Adele proved that she is worthy to have the album of the year as it shows how powerful her renditions to all the tracks in the album. Emotions can be felt with each track and you can really relate to this one if you ever experienced any pain with your relationship. Now the question is, will Adele continue the reign for the next year? We’ll just have to wait and see as I will have high expectation for her.
