I've noticed alot of people mention a "mother" and "father" figuire. In that case, we should'nt allow single parents. Its the same thing pretty much.
Exactly what I said!
People fear that if two gay parents raise a child, the child might end up gay. I don't believe that's the case but if it is, what's so wrong with having a gay child?
What if it became a public vote? Would you vote for banning or allowing?
Ooo, you are a clever one ain't you?
I would probably vote yes to allowing them, because I'm all for equal rights and everyone should have the option to make their own choices if they wish to adopt, or have desires to have/start a family.
But, I don't know why, my personal opinion is no they should not adopt.
In the end I dont care if people dont think gay people should adopt children, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
They, like me, have their own opinions. In my opinion I dont think ultra religious people should even be able to conceive children and pass their hypocritical ideology on down to their children.
American Psychological Association says it's all good.

The picture that emerges from research is one of general engagement in social life with peers, parents, family members, and friends. Fears about children of lesbian or gay parents being sexually abused by adults, ostracized by peers, or isolated in single-sex lesbian or gay communities have received no scientific support. Overall, results of research suggest that the development, adjustment, and well-being of children with lesbian and gay parents do not differ markedly from that of children with heterosexual parents.
The only people who really object are conservatives and religious nuts. I guess it boils down to:
Equal Rights & Scientists vs Bigotry and Conservatives
When you have parents of the same sex, you still can have a "mother" figure and a "father" figure; It is just a way to say that one of the parent is smooth, loving and tender and the other is bossy and virile or whatever people think a daddy should be.
A couple, even a gay one, is most of the time made by two persons who complete each other, so yeah their kid will still have both of these figures.
Beautiful & thought out post is beautiful & thought out.

If asking one follow up question makes me a clever one then I guess I am.
