Maybe that's because there's a fear of losing the middle-aged/elderly crowd that supplies a lot of her physical sales, and it might be even less likely that it'll come out now if she's on a major deal. But, if somebody at Sony could figure out how to balance the classic favored by the old with the cool favored by the young, and moreover get music from her that captures the energy that you get out of her interviews and banter (there's a reason her Carpool Karaoke went viral, it did that to some degree), the returns would be much greater than any vanilla pop or watered-down 21, and they have more resources than XL does to push it to the masses.

Oh wow, that is actually an exellent point, i never thought abt it that way. She's definitely facing a hard challenge right now, hopefully she'll take a long break to think through this (if the new agreement allows her) and try different things, i'm exited for the Xavier Dolan's upcoming film cameo even though i HATE the guy, as for the rumored song/score, i don't think that'll come to fruition, but hey if there's some new Adele song, i'm not complaining.

!!! I said this awhile ago. She would sound incredible on something like "Don't Wanna Fight".

25 should have been her "happy ending" in the age theme about becoming a mother, finding love ,etc but ultimately it just felt like she panicked at the last minute and was worried people wouldn't be here for her if she was happy. But "Hello" would have resolved that. One more sad song to put it in the past (the song is literally about moving on).

I'm only criticizing her because I don't want to see Sony try to influence her into another safe album because a "Hello" situation won't work again. She has to change things up (musically) or else people will lose interest. This album was way to ballad heavy. And while SML grew on me, it's not the style of uptempo that suits her. She has a bluesy/R&B voice and that style of pop isn't her. Not to mention, it's quite generic.

Let me go out and find purity for shading the queen like this.

I just thought of something. Not that they're friends, but Adele and Dave Grohl seem to get along pretty well, based on the very few Grammy encounters they've been in. As mentioned by someone else before, it's important for her to get along with her collaborators, otherwise nothing comes out of it. Maybe she should enlist him for a few songs for her next album?

Adele and Bon Iver would be gold too.

Maybe enlist Brittany Howard too.

As mentioned by Maddox and Ichi, I agree, the nostalgic themes doesn't really translate well when you listen to the album from beginning to end, and I think it's because there isn't really a progression at all in the album. 21 sounds like there is a story arc, while 25 sounds like it lacks one. Imo, that's the main issue with the album. I hope for the next album there's some sort of story/progression.

Personally, I don't it's a problem if she keeps singing about love/heartbreak. For example, 1989 was different for TS, but most of the album is still about boys/love/break ups. Adele can keep writing love songs.

Edit: I'm betting that Adele will enlist at least one of the artists she shares on Twitter.

Edit 2: watch, nothing that I said will become true

she'll instead go full-blown pop.

It depends on the country tbh.... the French went crazy on the merch. It's better to buy it before the show tho that's what I realized but because I was VIP I didn't see a merch stand like wtf
