Selena Gomez Wows Crowd At White House Women's Appreciation Ball

Earlier in the night, Selena Gomez (recently named most powerful celebrity in the world) performed at the White House for a crowd of the country's most powerful, impactful and influential women. The event honored Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama and Gabby Giffords. Selena performed an acoustic set of 10 songs.

While Selena mostly performed these songs at a mic stand, she also took some time to lay on the piano and serenade the crowd. She then gave a speech.

Speech

"I am just so... honored to be apart of this and get to perform for all you beautiful amazing women. I think it's rare that us women of all different backgrounds and religions and sexualities and career choices can come together as a whole to celebrate what we've done over time, because we've done a lot. And I think what makes me performing here ever more special is that you women, as a committee voted for me. It definitely makes me feel loved by my fellow women because throughout the last months, I've made some choices that not everyone can agree with. I've gotten some things that have made people upset. And you would think as a woman, other women would be happy that I have risen so much in the last year, and that it would be men trying to bring me down. But it's women too. Women who should if anything respect me and everything I've done. See I think the issue with some of us is jealousy and insecurity and it's always been like that. I think rather than celebrating our fellow woman's accomplishment, we bring her down because we haven't achieved that, but I definitely think feminism and women are becoming much more progressive and that we're making progress. And it's not like we can't make progress. Women are some of the top money-makes in the world. Some of us are more influential than 99% of world, and that, is amazing. To think that we've come from working for less than a dollar a day in disgusting working conditions only to go home and cook for our husbands to now being our own people, having our own culture and being truly independent. And that is amazing, and I am so thankful for all of you women who have inspired me to become independent and do my own thing. Thank you."

Collaborator Reba McEntire, who was in attendance tonight said she was "very proud and inspired" by Selena tonight. Oprah Winfrey "As I've come to know her, Selena has become like a daughter to me and this couldn't have been a better mothers day present." Michelle Obama also gave her take "I think it's wonderful how she's so young, and hasn't quite experienced life yet but is so wise and insightful." Another woman who had a comment? Hilary Clinton. She said Selena is giving a new meaning to the young progressive woman and bringing the concept of feminism too a younger generation that hasn't been reached yet.

Chris Brown released the Music Video of Roll It



The singer released the video of his third single (Roll It, Twist It, Light It Up) from his album Imperfect Man. This video is just a journey of me being high and get some fun said Chris Brown.
You can see him, during the video drinking and smoking weed in Amsterdam with his crew and friends, singing in a pub with a Rock group or performing at a festival. That video is fun, light and cool, but it's real bad example for the kids who loves him, cause he's advertising for drugs.
The ending of the video is the prelude of his next video, we can see Brown, in cab talking how he loves 2 women, but doesn't want to be a player. We can guess that the next single is I Love Her 2.



The video will only air on MTV the night after 10 PM.
