Okay girls let me get y'all into line here because having followed the ups and many, many, many many many downs of this rate I think it's about damn time I put my two cents in.
Firstly, thanks to Superiore for being a great host.
Secondly, F*CK him for letting such god damn disastrous results occur without rectifying these glaring crimes against Showgirl haself.
Let me begin.
Quote:
153. Beautiful
152. All I Wanna Do Is Make You Mine
151. Glad to Be Alive
150. Dangerous Overture
149. My Secret Heart
148. Tell Tale Signs
147. Cover Me With Kisses
146. Good Life
145. Getting Closer
144. Koocachoo
143. Just Wanna Love You
142. Love at First Sight
141. Harmony
140. The Real Thing
139. Los Amores
138. Santa Baby
137. Password
136. Paper Dolls
135. Count the Days
134. No World Without You
133. Never Spoken
132. Bittersweet Goodbye
131. Live and Learn
130. Heart Beat Rock
129. I Miss You
128. This Girl
127. Closer (1992)
126. Where In The World?
125. Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head
124. Whenever You Feel Like It
123. Under The Influence of Love
122. Chasing Ghosts
121. Silence
120. Gotta Move On
|
So far so good. Silence and GMO really could've gone a bit further but I excused your bad taste because they're b-sides and probably got quite a few generic scores thrown in.
Quote:
119. I Am The One for You
118. Difficult by Design
117. Go Hard or Go Home
116. Say The Word - I'll Be There
115. Heaven and Earth
114. So Now Goodbye
113. Let's Get to It
112. I'm So High
|
Now girls. This is where things began to show some very alarming warnings signs. I Am The One For You is clearly the smash that got away from the tracklist of ROL. The little sister of WDIHTD and one of the first major parts of sassy Kylie that weren't seen in her first two eras. And yet y'all pay it dust, I'll let it slide because it was added at the last minute so most of you didn't even bother listening.
The real sins here come from STW - IBT and Let's Get To It being eliminated before the top 100. Let's Get To It for starters sums up exactly the directions that 90s Kylie was taking after making pure sugar pop for the previous 4 years, stripping away the synths for a relaxed groove that proved she wasn't a one dimensional 80s relic. Stunning R&B balladry is what made KM94 so special as a body of work, something we haven't seen from Kylie since which I AM SURE is because of mother****ers not appreciating the smooth, silky goodness of songs like Say The Word.
Quote:
110. Mr President
109. Soul on Fire
108. Loveboat
107. Stars
106. Baby
105. Nothing Can Stop Us
104. Million Miles
103. Almost a Lover
102. Sleeping with the Enemy
101. Heartstrings
|
Fine eliminations, save for one GENIUS cover. Wanderlust, KYC, prezli, MarryTheMonster and Goddess Of Love have a LOT of nerve giving <5 scores to the gorgeous NOTHING CAN STOP US. Evidently not even the stunning arrangement that still sounds fresh to this day two decades later cannot STOP your atrocious taste. I saw a lot of stanning for Almost A Lover in the thread at the time, but snoozy Body Language rejects don't belong in the top 100 bye.
Quote:
100. Nothing to Lose
99. Do You Dare (NRG Edit)
98. Look My Way (Kylie '88 OUT)
97. Cosmic
96. The World Still Turns
95. I Don't Know What It Is
94. If You Don't Love Me
93. Made of Glass
92. Right Here, Right Now
91. If Only
|
Now girls. Girls.. Girls... Girls.. I thought there was some hope for you all knocking out the bad KMO tracks before the top 100 as they rightfully should've been. What I will NOT forgive is the DUST paid to one of its very BEST tracks: If Only. IF ONLY you had ears, you could understand what a magical baptism that song is amidst the basic pop GARBAGE on KMO that you voted above it (SEXY LOVE? REALLY?) but for some reason our gracious host thought it would be reasonable to recruit the participants from the Deaf Society.
Quote:
90. Rendezvous at Sunset
89. I Guess I Like It Like That
88. Sexercize
87. White Diamond
86. Secrets
85. Stay This Way
84. Ocean Blue
83. City Games
82. Boy
81. Love Is Waiting
80. Too Much of a Good Thing (Let's Get to It OUT)
|
I guess these are pretty fair; Though I will admit that I think LGTI was done wrong because of its well documented commercial flopping. IGILILT and TMOAGT are objectively better songs than the filler voted into the top 40, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Quote:
79. Glow
78. Always Find the Time
77. B.P.M.
76. Do It Again
75. Sexy Love
74. King or Queen
73. Dancefloor
72. Rhythm of Love
71. Good Like That
70. Wait
69. Looking for an Angel
68. Time Will Pass You By
67. Things Can only Get Better
|
HOW can y'all endorse the punching of Rhythm of Love like this?? Do you understand how monumental that record was at the time for one dimensional teen sensation soap opera actress Kylie Minogue's career? Always Find The Time and Things Can Only are two spectacular 90s dance tunes and the lack of appreciation for the best album tracks is frankly headache inducing. I cannot fathom.
AND you wiped out two of the BEST Fever era tracks (Dancefloor and Good Like That are heaven!!) but kept the ****** repetitious FILLER "Love" songs??? Get ****ed.
Quote:
66. You Make Me Feel
65. Rippin' Up The Disco
64. Fine
63. Automatic Love
62. Sparks
61. Slo Motion
60. Falling
59. Disco Down
58. Kiss Me Once
57. Feels So Good
56. No More Rain
55. One Boy Girl (Rhythm of Love OUT)
|
Things were going well. The filler was slowly being trimmed and the weaker songs getting knocked out left and right... Then what do I see? The 1-2-3 punch of BAD TASTE that robbed FSG, NMR and OBG (come on) of their rightful places inside the top 50? This has to be a mistake. One Boy Girl remains a ridiculously charming fun BOP that is impossible to hate. I can't take it. Also Disco Down is so not a better song than Fine or Rippin Up The Disco.
Quote:
54. Where Has The Love Gone?
53. Break This Heartbreak
52. Love Takes Over Me
51. Speakerphone
50. Your Love
|
Bye these are too high.
I just don't know what to say. The best vocals, some of the best lyrics outside of Impossible Princess and a seductive journey through a risky relationship. What more do you people want? This should've been top 10.
FAR AND AWAY the most artistic, touching, EPIC song ever recorded by Miss Kylie and y'all do it like this? Connor had it right this is a JOURNEY and I pity the heartless souls among us who didn't give this a 9 or 10 because the ROCKS in their chest couldn't feel the torment, the slayage, the sheer brilliance of this MONSTER. Don't @ me, I don't have time for you if you can't admit to yourselves just how perfect this song is.
Quote:
47. Illusion
46. Limbo
45. Fragile
|
How did they even make it this far?
Quote:
44. Through the Years
43. Tears
42. Enjoy Yourself
|
Rest in peace, for the basics don't understand the blessings bestowed upon us from above. The beautiful pain of TTY, the struggle of Tears and the sheer joy of EY. You deserved so much more than you were given. </3
Quote:
41. Carried Away
40. Too Much
39. Someday
38. Give It to Me
37. I'm Over Dreaming (Over You) [Enjoy Yourself OUT]
36. Magnetic Electric
35. After Dark
34. Too Far
33. Cruise Control
32. More More More
31. I Feel for You
|
Yes, yes, yes, y- Wait. I Feel For You? Not being one of her top 30 best Essentials? Not being in the top 3 of Body Language? How? Need I write you an essay on just how important this quiet storm R&B jam was in the context of the album and Kylie's career as a whole? I won't bother because I know it will be wasted on the blind.
Quote:
30. Jump
29. Light Years (Light Years OUT)
28. Closer
|
Closer? Beating the lyrical magnum opus that is Jump? And the bubbly charisma of Light Years? This had to be sabotage, the tens don't lie:
Jump Lovers (11): Eeveelution; (10): Cupid, RT Air, Venus, EJQL8, skwonderfactory, conatus, KylieistBoi
Light Years Lovers (10): HausOfCarlos, RT Air, EJQL8, conatus, Kyle-x, KylieistBoi, GarageGlamorous
Y'all can stay.
My 11. She did well, but undoubtedly a better track than CBTF and they should rightfully be swapped on the rankings. EJQL8 especially needs to die for giving this a 1. Mighty Rivers you're a top 10 in my heart sis. You've gotten me through some ****.
Quote:
26. If I Was Your Lover
25. Nu-di-ty
24. Tightrope
23. I Don't Need Anyone
22. Surrender (Kylie Minogue OUT)
21. Sweet Music
|
KM94 only her 6th best album? That definitely sounds fake but ok. Sweet Music didn't even deserve a top 50 placement, and this is really just the start of the overrating of Body Language that's about to take place. I wish I had known so I could adjust my scores to be fair to the genuinely good songs on there.
Quote:
20. Sensitized
19. Cupid Boy
18. Say Hey
17. Still Standing
16. Les Sex (Kiss Me Once OUT)
15. Everything Is Beautiful
|
Really, really, really good songs. Everything Is Beautiful is the best song on Aphrodite standard edition, I won't accept anyone saying otherwise and the users who had the misfortune of giving it mediocre scores have never & probably will never feel love in their cold, black hearts.
Still Standing is one of the better songs on Body Language so it's totally ****ed that it got wiped before the top 15 while overrated Obsession and Promises made it to the top 6.
Quote:
14. Like a Drug
13. Fever
12. Love Affair
11. Aphrodite
10. Loving Days
9. Can't Beat The Feeling
|
This is just ridiculous. Absurd. Preposterous. Like A Drug out before Cherry Bomb? Love Affair her 12th best non-single? Can't Beat The Feeling better than literally anything in the previous 15 spaces??? Please explain.
The rightful #1 and everybody knows it. The sabotage that took place here will not be forgotten, Dreams will rise to take her throne one day. Impossible Princess, rightfully Impossible Queen.
Quote:
7. Burning Up
6. Promises
|
This DEFINITELY sounds fake but okay.
Quote:
5. Drunk
4. Cherry Bomb
3. Obsession
2. Skirt (Miscellaneous OUT)
1. Secret (Take You Home) [Body Language WINS]
|
Now I'm not sure how to summarise this, but it seems the little have gotten it all wrong. Secret as a winner was the only option after Dreams was kicked unfortunately: It's got everything that anybody could want in a Kylie song: Part sugary pop, part sassy queen, part throwback, part disco. It combines everything that we wanted from ha into a perfect little package. Unfortunately, the rest of the top 5 is a god damn mess. Cherry Bomb is a great song and probably her best B-side, but 4th? Obsession is a great song, but be honest with yourselves: top 20 at best. Skirt... Welp. Nothing to add to what was already said about it here.
And Drunk. What a poetic masterpiece, a sonic explosion, highs, lows, ups, downs, rivers, mountains. That song is a trip and a half. Giving it 5th is really injustice.
The album rankings are atrocious. Hermaphrodite, ÷ and Rash being better albums than KM94 is just a flat lie. I don't think a single Kylie fan in their right mind would dare challenge that Impossible Princess is her best album. To do so would be to admit oneself is basic.
