I feel like they're similar because they try to mix R&B and Pop's commercial aspects, but not the aspects that make the genres good. So it makes for a flat listen. That's fair enough though, it's a reasonable criticism. Out of curiosity what is one pop/R&B song that mixes both genres in a way that you enjoy? It doesn't have to be k-pop.

2NE1 finally released their album which was totally worth the wait.

The Come Back Home music video was visually great with an interesting story.
The girls are currently on a worldwide tour spanning a few Asian countries!

EXO's lineup is finally perfect, and just in time to promote Overdose
one of my favorite SHINee left overs with divine production.

Soshi's MR.MR. mini had another listenable track on it that wasn't the title song,
and it would appear that Taeyeon has finally found the solution to her stiff
execution of choreography on stage. A great year by all means!

tbqh it's really hard to think of a song that does it well on the spot? One that jumps out is Tamia's Officially Missing You, the vocals and styling are rnb, arrangement is very pop. It sounds natural and like something Tamia would do, and it's a twelve year old song that sounds fresher than tracks released a couple of months ago.

Oh how could I forget, KPop 2014 is the year of R&B JYP and SM overhauled their styles to fit it with their groups, and YG is flourishing because of it. You could argue that Brave Bros and Duble Sidekick are seeing more success because the public is turning towards more 'organic' and groove/rhythm based songs.

I had to look this one up but I see what you mean with the genre fusion. It sounds like something a k-pop group would release today with it's instrumental but the vocal styles make it predominantly R&B.

I'm not going to turn this thread into a big trans* discussion so I'll just say one thing. It's very rude to reference a trans* person by the sex they were born, as opposed to the gender they identify as, and doesn't quite come across as you being "fine with it". You being uncomfortable is your business but don't be rude about it to people who already have a lot to deal with because of it.

That's extremely rude actually, if one is choosing to be female even if they were born a male, it's their choice and you don't have to agree, but you respect that they want to be a female and call them what they like to be called. Same for vice versa.
