I love Drake, but I agree he's not particularly respected by the rap community. Very commercially successful, critically acclaimed and marketable, but not fully respected in his field. In my opinion people do way too much on him, but I'm a huge fan of his music so I'm biased.
The most widely respected new rap artists this decade are Kendrick and Cole... Kendrick moreso than Cole. Chance The Rapper could join them if he ever bothers releasing an official studio album, lol.
Is it really a coincidence that most of the people on this board like Drake the most out of all rappers/hip hop artists? No, because he's a pop girl.
Where are Drakes Grammys? His whole career and gimmick is a rip off Kanyes 808s (which is a great peice of work, not the watered down radio friendly mess Drake comes with).
I never said Drake isn't successful, he is very much a huge artist. But his albums are forgettable, in the moment pieces. As are 99.9% of his singles.

Does anyone know what's up with Chance The Rapper? He has so much potential to blow up, but the only "public" thing he's done so far has been a Bieber collaboration (best moment on Journals). Guys at my school play his Acid Rap mixtape all the time, and they have been since late 2013. He just needs to get the wheel rolling.
