There are symbolism in CMB though. The orange smoke is symbolic of breathing like blowing the smoke out and you see at the end when it's sucked in. It's like breathing in, as in Catching her breath. Also the bubble symbolize breathing and catching her breath.
To me, this whole video is simple, bright, and light... which fits the song really well cause it is fresh, happy, and airy. Nothing complicated because it's all about being happy and starting new. You can really see it in her attitude. She's happy and enjoying her life and dancing to the beats.
I mean sure they could potentially get a lot of views, but it's usually because the artist/song already has a lot of hype, not just the video itself. A lot of those views are hardcore stans watching it over and over again that would probably be doing the same thing if it sucked, it's not people who suddenly felt the urge to buy the song because they watched the video. Even if she released a BTHE quality video it never would have had a significant impact on the success of the song on the charts.
