Not in Sweden.
Baby peaked at #25, Boyfriend at #7, As Long as You Love Me & Beaty and a Beat peaked at #23, and Heartbreaker peaked at #47 so it's a surprise a single just released with no promotion is hitting #1 there.

BIEBS JOINS THE STREAMING WAVE
8/31/15
According to Def Jam, “What Do You Mean,” the lead single off of Justin Bieber’s upcoming album, dropping 11/13, has registered the second most one-day and two-day streams of 2015, with 1.2m and 2.5m, respectively. Only One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” has exceeded those totals.

So 1.4M for 1D and 1.2M for Justin. Interesting.
I still wonder why we get different updates.

I think HDD was referencing total streams, not just Spotify. (?)

Taylor could have an advantage tho, considering Bieber has a more global fanbase. Maybe Taylor has more US streams than Justin (?).

I wouldn't be surprised if she debuts very low on the Hot 100 this week (tomorrow's chart) because of the airplay accumulated through yesterday and the small sales bump up to Thursday (remember it was rising a bit on iTunes last week); or it may bubble under (101-125). Remember, the airplay tracking period is Monday-Sunday while sales/streams tracking period is Friday-Thursday.
But the majority of the points coming in (video streams, accumulating airplay and sales) will certainly count towards next week's chart.
EDIT: rather than debuting, it'll be re-entering the Hot 100; it's already spent a week there at #76.

I still can't believe Taylor's 5th single is doing so well She's truly out of this world.
Maybe it was posted here, but do any of you know if Apple will release a chart or something like Spotify that will allow us to know how many streams a track has?

Post VMA Spotify updates. (Will do a second update tomorrow, since that will also measure the VMA effect since last night effect measured today was for a matter of 1-2 hours)
SONG | 8/30 | 8/31 | CHANGE | Trini Dem Girls | 12,578,534 | 12,627,253 | +48,719 | What Do You Mean? | 8,623,479 | 12,590,072 | +3,966,593 | Can't Feel My Face | 150,414,766 | 152,918,137 | +2,503,371 | Downtown | 1,341,299 | 1,792,147 | +450,848 | Cool for the Summer | 46,322,532 | 47,279,156 | +956,624 | Shut Up and Dance | 211,523,042 | 212,526,470 | +1,003,428 | Should've Been Us | 8,493,459 | 8,606,586 | +113,127 | Freedom | 18,415,038 | 18,632,237 | +217,199 | Levels | 1,417,968 | 1,575,748 | +157,780 | Where Are U Now | 247,587,426 | 248,890,034 | +1,302,608 | Heavydirtysoul | 8,500,903 | 8,570,671 | +69,768 | Lane Boy | 8,083,454 | 8,150,552 | +67,098 | L$D | 21,700,396 | 21,812,341 | +111,945 | M'$ | 7,642,169 | 7,679,406 | +37,237 |
It wouldn't make any sense to rank them based on gains, since some songs are already huge hits with huge updates prior. Each song will be looked at individually tomorrow, to see how much gained post VMA.

Why do you release a video if you're not going to take your shirt off? I seriously don't understand that logic

Those are not tragic numbers for Nick
His streaming power is pretty bad, he doesn't get many views, especially not first week. He's doing fine for his standards.

Because he literally do two shirtless shoots last year and he was over it. He's focusing on his music now.
