rip I tried to edit this without paying any attention and deleted it instead

Here we go again...
Remember last year when we all freaked out a bit because there was that leaked Sony email that confirmed that the third album was planned for Q4 2014?
Realizing the attachments that the attachments didn't work, we didn't pay quite as much attention to this one:

Somehow news broke later that year of a somewhat similar deal to what's being talked about now, but it was from the Mirror and furthermore much of its specifics were debunked when 25 obviously came out on XL/Columbia the next year:

When the release happened, HDD, which was correct or close to correct on a lot of info regarding the release, mentioned this in an article:
Quote:
The forthcoming album is the last on Adele’s Sony/XL deal; insiders say she has already inked a new worldwide deal with Sony, said to be valued at more than $50 million.

The rumor detailed again in the in-depth piece about her by the BBC:
Quote:
Meanwhile the talk in the music industry was that a big offer - said by some to be north of £80m - was on the table from a major label should she want to quit Beggars. It was considered by many to be a done deal, but nothing happened. 25 duly came out on XL. But the chatter won't go away. There's talk of a strained relationship between Adele and Richard Russell, of "creative differences". The counterintuitive partnership at Beggars that has worked so well for both parties might have run its course. Sony - who have managed her career to such great effect in America - are said to be in the box seat should she wish to move on.

And now the story from The Sun, which of course initially sounded sketch, but has been picked up by The Guardian, with commentary from the head of Music Business Worldwide (same publication that said that 25 wouldn't be out until the latter half of 2015):

And again commented on as well as de-sensationalized by HDD:

The trilogy thing means more than the age titles, like the three with XL?
The Kesha/woman comment was a warning to Sony (supported by Kesha's response that I can't find now and maybe leaving the Sony party) or prevention of backlash from this change or neither, just good PR/personhood?
tl;dr: This is an excessive amount of info, but I think it does suggest that a Sony deal (or rather a Columbia exclusive, deal?) could very well be legit. Watch her go straight XL for her next album now, though
