I bought the album last week and never made it the whole way through. All the songs have that cheap country rock vibe that you would hear at a pig festival. Her voice sounds different too, like an old hasbeen. Reminds me a lot of Courtney Love softer music but with bland lyrics and melodies. I thought Florence could save the album but Hey Girl is trash, embarrassing, bad lyrics like it was written for kindergarten girls. I cringed so much. A joke. Angel down sounds like church music. Boring. The worktape is better with her faux outrage screams ala Courtney Love.
A big hit would be nice but we should all stop expecting to happen. Making MR a single is a good choice because people react very well to her performances of it, that will sell the album which is more important than having a hit song. A hit song would be a nice bonus but we don't need one.
Honestly I'm not expecting Million Reasons to be a big hit, maybe a cute Top 25/20 peak if we're lucky
but yeah the most important thing is longevity/selling the album and like the post above says Million Reasons
is the perfect choice for that.
