What do you think about Klaus Nomi? He had all the makings to become the biggest popstar/performance artist from Germany. Too bad he died so soon. He knew the meaning of spectacle. I think he ran in the same circles as Madonna in early 80s NYC. M̶a̶y̶b̶e̶ ̶s̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶a̶c̶r̶i̶f̶i̶c̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶.̶
He was an average opera singer but he shook (just a tiny bit) the foundations of pop.
And shortly before he died on AIDS (he was the first famous artist who died from that disease), battle -scarred, he could play with the Berliner Philarmoniker at the Waldbühne in Berlin, it was his proudest moment.
