I'm sure you're getting a million takes on the Comey/email situation from former AUSAs, but here is what I think is going on (healthy doses of speculation here informed by my experience as a former federal public corruption prosecutor in high profile cases):
1. Agents investigating Weiner saw evidence of State Department related emails on Weiner's laptop. This is a totally separate team of agents from the team that investigated the State Department emails. They thus have no idea whether these have already been reviewed or not. And they can't lawfully look at them without a search warrant or (this is key) consent of the owner of the emails. In theory, they could also send a grand jury subpoena for them to Huma and/or Weiner. Regardless, they would not be responsive to the Weiner sexting search warrant, so they can't seize and review them. They appropriately raise it up the chain.

1. What we aren't going to do is try to blame Hillary for mass incarceration.
2. The crime bill was very tragic, yes, but we cannot blame that for the fact that many black women are struggling today.
3. Someone having committed a crime, having that crime on their record, and now not being able to find employment due to that crime being on their record is not a product of the crime bill (that would be extremely illogical to say).

Her intellect is palpable and she's unequivocally smarter than her boss.

Nevertheless, this doesn't negate the fact that she is in this merely for personal expediency. The idea that she's doing this because she believes in Trump's America is, quite frankly, laughable. You know what that makes her? A coward. It's a real shame she hasn't put her clearly wonderful brain to something useful and more worthwhile.

She used to attack Trump all of the time before she joined his campaign.



To be fair, I sounded like a Trump supporter in regards to Hillary during the primary but the rules I have set in my own head have allowed me to forgive that.
