" However, I feel extreme disappointment with him in this entire situation because not only is their decision to be careless affecting him and her, but now it is affecting EXO as well. I will list my reasons for being upset below:
1) Fans donate gifts or money to purchase gifts for their idol. That is their token of appreciation aside from moral support as well as voting for awards, buying merchandise, etc. For him to blatantly give these gifts meant for him, to her, is completely disrespectful and only seems to mock the fans as being just a steady stream of money. —- Two fansites purchased the same sunglasses for him and both of them credited themselves when he wore them. However there are photos of Baekhyun and Taeyeon both wearing these same sunglasses. How is that just a coincidence? —- Then we get into the third day of EXO’s TLP Seoul concert. Fans made banners for each day to hold up during the “Lucky” performance and on the last day the banner said “This is just the beginning,” in light of the whole Kris situation. Baekhyun decided to post a photo of himself on Instagram holding that banner while saying the same thing Taeyeon had previously posted on hers: “This is the beginning! For my dream! The trip for my dreams! Pikachu!” Obviously yes they both didn’t make up the phrase, but clearly this wasn’t the first time he had posted something just like she had as a part of this game of theirs. To use a banner that has such great meaning as a group and as a fandom, given to you by your fans to show their undying support no matter what rough patches come along, only to play a game with your girlfriend is completely disrespectful. —- Then we have her posting a photo of a Starbucks mug with her face on it that her fans had made for her. She decided to caption the photo “Taeng Kyung very much” instead of saying thank you she used Taeng (her nickname) and Kyung (Baekhyun’s nickname). SONE’s were not happy about this whatsoever and felt like they too were being mocked.
2) Continuing with Instagram, when EXO decided to create Instagram accounts and make them public for the fans to see, it was like a single thread that gave us direct connection with the boys and we appreciate that every day. When you begin to knowingly use that one connection you have and post deceiving things that resulted in being some childish game between the two of you and making it seem like you posted them for our eyes to see when that was not the case at all…why did you even bother making it public rather than private? —- Aside from the two instances I mentioned earlier, there are several more. Here is a link. It’s one thing if they were already established and doing things like this, but to make fans out to look like fools by playing these games is completely uncalled for, and this isn’t just me or other Baekhyun fans or even other SONE’s that think the two of them are making their fans look like fools, that is the general consensus of any netizen that has seen all of that. Read some of the comments, you will see. —- Then you have Taeyeon apologizing four times on her account to the fans after all of this dating news broke out. When the other three members of SNSD were revealed to have been dating you didn’t see any of them apologizing for it, so why is Taeyeon apologizing? You apologize when you feel guilty about something.
3) Baekhyun is in his second year as an Idol. He has made great accomplishments and reached an all-new level of popularity. But this does not make him invincible. The fact that he acted so careless to 1) be out at ridiculous times of night on his “dates” and then show up to practice at 4am and have people (including myself) constantly worried for his health because we thought he was constantly working and getting no rest, and 2) be reckless and thoughtless enough to proceed in actions knowing he would get caught. And as I have stated, there’s no doubt in mind that these two wanted to be caught when they were in a well-lit parking lot, used a cellphone to clearly light up his face, and put the top down on the convertible at 2am for no reason. —- These two know they are high profile celebrities and they are both smart enough to know that paparazzi as well as fans/sasaengs follow them constantly. Do you really think doing all of those things wasn’t going to give them away? And to top it off, the person who gave Dispatch the original photos claimed that there was more than just a kiss that happened in the car, that it was more like a makeout with groping involved. IF that is true, and they proceeded to do that in PUBLIC, then I have lost respect for both of them. Not to mention if any of that proof is leaked by the person then wow that’s going to look real nice to the public to have photos going around of them groping each other, given how conservative a culture they live in, as well as the age of most of the fandom.
4) While the other 10 members of EXO were going through a traumatic experience of realizing one of their members, one of their leaders, one of their brothers, is leaving the group for good…, he is off on his dates with her (5 times the article said) instead of being with his members in one of the most troubling times since their debut. I thought he was fearless for being the last to hold out for Kris, when in reality he was too busy with his own scandal. —- If he chose to go to her for consolation then fine, I can’t hate him for that. I just personally find it a little selfish.
5) The interview that everyone has mentioned where he made the statement he wouldn’t date until he was 35 because “now is not the time” and that he owes it to his members to stay true to EXO first. Is this how you would choose to stay true to your members? To act careless enough to be caught and allow not only yourself, but now her as well, to receive all this hatred being slung at the both of you? To make it so now fans are profusely apologizing to Joonmyun for having to deal with all of this when he’s already been through so much more than anyone else? You are so young and you are barely starting your career and this is already coming about? Now because of this situation, Baekhyun’s predebut drinking scandal has been released along with photos and SM had to make a statement of apology saying that he is now self-reflecting. So what else should we expect to be revealed? Because now people are jumping on the bandwagon to deface EXO’s name. This is just the beginning. As if dealing the Kris lawsuit and all the hell that came with that, now we have more things being leaked to bring them down. This is affecting THE ENTIRE GROUP not just him or her now.
And those people saying this is all for love so it shouldn’t matter in the end…I’m sorry but dating someone doesn’t equate to love. You may love someone over time but just because these two are dating does not mean they are “in love with each other.” Maybe they will be, but unless either of them has stated it then do not assume and do not throw the word around so thoughtlessly.
So this is why I as a fan, feel disappointed. I feel like we as fans are constantly told to give them all our love and support over and over again, to the point we invest so much time, money, and effort into them, only to then feel deceived. And, I feel like EXO as a group is being negatively affected by his carelessness. Do I think it’s way too early in his career to be dating? Yes, because I think it completely affects his young appealing image, but I can’t be angry at him for dating right now. I just think he should have been smarter and private about it. Overall I am angry with him for thinking he can act so thoughtlessly and not thinking about his image, her image, and EXO’s image. Fans even started selling their tickets to his musical when that is supposed to be his defining solo moment. It’s sad.
Am I going to forgive him? Time will tell. When something that upsets you happens, you generally act irrationally and say things you don’t mean. I have no idea how I will feel tomorrow or the next day or next week or next month. Right now I am just choosing to simply feel the way I feel about it. Believe it or not, everyone is entitled to feel how they want. I do not bash people who think there’s nothing wrong with this situation, so why should I have to be bashed for thinking there is something wrong with this situation? People can agree to disagree. But this fandom is too immature to realize that apparently. "
