Upper division Prof's have to deal with people who actually know the subjects, as well as graduate students. So they learn to be more open to other opinions.

I know where you're coming from, but I've never really experienced that personally. The only thing I notice from upper division and lower is the contrast in class sizes.
I go to a school that has 90% of the students as some sort of science major (mostly biology, some sort of engineering, computer science). A lot of the lower level bios, computer science, engineering sources overwhelm you with hard tests and lots of homework to weed out people. It's insane.
