Now that someone posted some LFN stats to compare to birthday, I feel better with the earlier release date. It's not like Capitol is trying to push a mid tempo Katy ballad with a slightly awkward chorus like Uncle. This is a summer upbeat Katy bop! Birthday is gonna slay!!! (Top10)

I guarantee that Captiol sent this video to TMZ to garner publicity for the music video. It's no coincidence that the video was shot weeks ago but this footage is being leaked now to the press right before the video drops.
They are using similar marketing techniques that Justin Bieber used when he claimed his laptop was stolen for his Beauty and the Beat music video. Smart move.
