Er, but the thing is, he might be close to retirement now...

Good wins for both sisters.
I was a little scared with Serena, she really tried it with my heart today

Actually if Serena beats Kerber and Venus beats Stosur tomorrow...we could have the first Williams sisters match since like 2009 or 2010...

You know that they are on different sides of the draw, right? So they both should still win 2 matches in order to play against each other for the title.
I think they both will win today, but based on their previous matches this week Serena should have more difficulties. I wonder, if she has problems with her back or legs. Something has been troubling her.

Nadal won't go anywhere near Federer's 17. His knee's have become a big problem, and I don't think he'll be able to play his game injury-free on a consistent basis as he gets older. Nadal and Djokovic's total slam counts will be largely decided by their opposition, the field has been very weak during the past few years.
Murray. Just when I thought he was going to get his act together.

Oops I just realized that. Oh well Venus can easily beat Stosur. She's up 5-2 last time I checked with a break so she should get through to her first semi of the year. Serena has a tough match, with her so far unknown injury against an in-form Kerber isn't the type of match she'd like, but I do see her coming through in 3 tough ones.

Yeah I believe that Nadal is only going to play for 4 more years max, definitely retiring the same time as Roger Federer .
It was just a fluke from Andy, he's still on his gold "high" he'll win the US Open by beating Djokovic in the finals

I think Andy is way too talented not to win a slam. I think he'll win his first either at the USO or the AO. He needs to work on his consistency though. He loses too many matches to players who shouldn't bother him.

Looking forward to the Serena vs Angie match. I think Kerber has the type of game to trouble Serena, especially considering Serena hasn't been playing great this week. I hope it's a competitive match anyway.

I think the Toronto win gave her confidence back. I hope she wins US Open. I'm rooting for her!
And I think the problem with Andy is his endurance. He lost 2nd, 3rd, and 4th set because he was loosing stamina, when he clearly dominated the first set. I hope he can win a slam or two, he deserves it.

Most of the WTA's top stars have really bad records at the USO. It will be interesting to see how it plays out this year.

It definitely gave her a boost, it's her first title of the season. It's the first time she's performed well on North American hardcourts so hopefully she can keep it up.
Are you referring to Wimbledon? The closure of the roof favoured Roger. I think Andy would have stood a better chance had the match remained outdoors.

David Ferrer was so horribly bad against Wawrinka!
DelPo played good today. I hope he can beat Nole again, but idk if he can do it.
I'm glad Roger has kept his matches as two setters so far! Save that energy!

What the hell did Serena just do?
Why would she lose to Kerber? I was awaiting an all-Williams final.

Kerber's a great defender and they usually give Serena more trouble than anyone else. That's why Serena lost to Wozniacki in Miami - and Kerber is kind of like a stronger version of her. Serena would need to be a lot more patient and consistent than today to beat her.
Great to see Venus playing so well all week. Her first semi-final in a long time, and she beat 3 top 15 players to get there. Not here for the mini-chokes against Sam today though.

Kerber is nothing like Wozniacki. Kerber has the best defensive game in women's tennis atm IMO because unlike Caroline and Aga she's capable of hitting offensive shots in defensive positions. Caroline just has a brick wall mentality, Angelique's court positioning and shot selection are what keep her in longer rallies. No other player in the top ten can win matches by playing aggressively or defensively. She has so many options. My main problem with her is that she sometimes tends to be too passive in key moments. Her serve needs a lot of work too.
Serena didn't play great, but it was by no means an upset.
Can't wait for the USO. The field seems so stacked this year.

Yeah, that's a good description of Kerber's game. Her biggest weaknesses are definitely the serve and her tendency to play very passively, especially on important points.
Serena was just too sloppy and hasty today. She even had a few good chances to break back in the second set, but her attitude to go for all or nothing didn't help her at all. She went for too big shots too soon, instead of moving Kerber properly around and building those points. She wasn't serving that well either.

Very happy for Venus. I'm not a big fan of hers in general but it is admiral to see her battling through. Can't see her winning the tournament so she's going to be looming at the US Open. That could prove to be very interesting.

I think Serena was tired. It hasn't been a great week for her, but it's still good preparation heading into flushing meadows. She has a lot of matches under her belt, and at least now she'll have a few extra days off.
