I've noticed that songs that have the biggest longevity are usually so strong because their is no song that is subsequent to it, or if their is it flops or underperforms. Like for GME, it has been so strong because ROM didn't do well. Same for IGF (MMH was a smaller hit) and Dynamite (no song came after it, or if it did I never heard it). Katy seems to be immune to this theory though.
I wonder if SB will be a huge seller in turn for Fly flopping. I would be down with that.

It usually helps. But I think is the other way around, they're so huge that block the next single (That's the only reason I can find for "Dirty Picture" being such a flop )
i don't understand how dirty picture peaked at like 96 ... with taio cruz and kesha and an awesome song! i didn't expect it to be a "dynamite" but more popular than it was x.x i loved it a lot
and omg rihanna needs to stay above PUK! i got tired of that song so fast ... just like MLJ and PRA
Yeah. I thought it will slow down and will have to wait till 2012 for 5x platinum or 2011 holidays at least. But now it seems it will get there within 4-5 weeks only.
