At the end of the day, Country Music is like all forms of entertainment, it's subjective. And while what You or I think is 'good' or 'bad' can be debated, the fact that Taylor Swift has helped Country Music a lot more than she's 'hurt' the genre certainly cannot be. Taylor Swift and other stars like her are clearly GOOD for country music.
Does anyone else remember Shania saying she'd like to collaborate with Taylor? I'm sure she said it in a radio interview maybe last year but I can't find it anywhere.
Shania was asked on twitter if she'd consider working with Taylor and she replied that she'd love to and that she thought they'd "have lots to write about."
Taylor's song becomes just the second solo song to log 300k downloads twice outside of Xmas sales It's also the 2010s' 2nd song to be #1 its first 2 weeks of digital release.
Perhaps they were going for humor hence the dresses. Taylor could have made the looks hot like she did in the Both of Us video referencing vintage looks. Also the photshoot and promo shots for the album look amazing so she knows how to work the look and have it be amazing. I see the resemblence.
I heard Sparks Fly on the radio for the first time while driving today, I FREAKED out
I screamed and I started going really fast, I switched lanes and got in front of the guy in front of me.
How can forever and always, which wasnt a single (even though it got a performance) go platinum when an actual radio single with a video and performances struggle to reach gold

I am thinking perhaps it was not catchy enough for pop and no support from Country audience.
I thought it was one of the better songs from Speak Now. I also think doing the split dual release of Mean and TSOU was a mistake.

I always thought it was catchy, but I agree, no split releases from Red
"This song was the last country-classified song to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 until the week of September 1, 2012 when "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift climbed from #72 to #1."
No.
But just realised if We Are Never hits #1 on country, it'll be the first to top the Hot 100 and country since this song. And I think possibly the first female since Dolly's 9 to 5?
