Rihanna continues to reign over Keri Hilson & Keyshia Cole…
The phenomenal success of Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ album goes from strength to strength each week. The singer’s latest LP has moved back in the top five to the #3 position after pushing another 62k units (-44%) on the Billboard 200. Keri Hilson pushed another 36,693 copies of new album ‘No Boys Allowed’ dropping five places to #16. Keyshia Cole’s ‘Calling All Hearts’ still retains its top #10 position at #10 with 37k units sold (-71%). And finally, Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ LP dropped from #5 to #18 (-82%) after pushing 27k.
Keyshia and Keri are neck in neck in the sales department and they are selling at exactly the same rate, which is starting to surprise me because Keyshia has the fanbase but Keri had the promotion. Rihanna hardly did a tonne of promo for the US this era. Her ‘Rated R’ promotional campaign was far more superior and expensive because her PR team were trying to milk the Chris Brown beatdown to the tenth power. The difference is absolutely undeniable – the quality of the music videos last year practically crap on the music videos for this new album.
Island Def Jam will be pleased that they are MORE than recouping back costs with this album after not spending so much on her promotion and music videos. It’s also safe to say that the success of ‘Loud’ has permitted Rihanna to shake off the tag that she’s no longer an album seller. By next month, she will have reached platinum sales if she continues to keep up with the strong sales each week.
Do anyone here know Only Girl total sales in the U.S?
last time i checked it was 2.1 million......i didn't get it's sales for today....but maybe 2.2 million..we'll see but it's close to 2.2 million maybe a little more or little less..
I wasn't complaining at all, I was just trying to make a joke out of it
yes it is actually quite rude to complain but in this case it was absolutely justified. It was even hard to think of 20 names lol.....so i chose a few random people anyway
