I for some reason remember Storm fighting the X-Men, but it might have been the Shadow King using her. So maybe I am wrong about her having been a bit evil in the past.

Big critic screening was last night in London. Major screening (that I'm attending hihi) is Monday night at the massive IMAX screen in central London which will essentially be the world premiere with cast and crew there too. Monday is the start of media blitz - reviews go online and pics of JLaw and co from the London premiere and likely others around the world. I expect a NYC or LA one either next weekend or the week after.

Obviously nobody knows for sure yet, but since Fox are letting reviews go out long before the UK/Ireland launch and weeks before USA, that's a really good sign they have a critical gem... At least they think they do.

Ugh, I hope it makes over 100m first week. It doesn't deserve to make less than that.

For any UK/Ireland fans, Graham Norton has JLaw and James McAvoy on next Friday to promote X-Men. They're taping the show on Monday (normally it tapes on Thursday) because the cast will be in London for the premiere. Not sure if it'll be after the red carpet event or before it.

Not to make comparisons to civil war (which was an amazing cmb btw), but I think while we have seen a lot of the film. There will be so much, much more things shown that will surprise us

I agree. Notice a lot of the new stuff we see are just seconds from a scene we have already seen. That's a majority of the trailers and tv spots... just a few extra seconds.

They filmed these interviews when they were filming. Jlaw didn't have much down time as she was filming this and another film simultaneously.

There's obviously so much more to discuss, not just her powers. Her character arc, how she becomes a quasi-leader of the X-Men in this movie, etc.

The timing might be true but I'm sure they were able to find a few mins to sit down with her for a sentence or two. Don't get me wrong, I love ha and I love her Mystique too in these films i'm just a little disappointed with her power piece. The Cyclops scene is great tho.

I'm such a flop xmen stan, I always see this thread but forget to come in and post.

And I'm such a huge fan! I own the original movie trilogy, first class, days of future past, 2 out of the 5 volumes from the 90's cartoon show plus that japanese xmen version series then games, pins, and I have 3 shirts too.

Anyways I'm so excited for the movie, Its been painful to wait this long.
It'll be 2nd movie I watch this year after Deadpool which was great.

It's kind of irritating that Mystique has been promoted to the forefront because of Jennifer Lawrence (though I enjoy them both), but I hope that means we get some nods towards Rogue and her origin story. Mystique is such a complex character and if they are going to push her to the front, they had better do it right.

Can you imagine a Mystique backstory?! Her history has had her come in contact with so many fan favorites; Wolverine, Dazzler, Rogue, Gambit, The Brotherhood, The Avengers, The New Mutants, etc. So much can be done with her character imo.

I'm rewatching First Class. I was thinking about how Mystique should be in her 40s/50s in Apocalypse but there's a line from Beast talking about her genes and how she'll look like a teenager in her teens.

In the comics she met Wolverine in 1921 and she was already an adult. She has an extended lifespan due to her shapeshifting abilities. I'm glad it translated well into the current movie storyline.

Yeah, Fox have to think it's critically good since they screened it on Friday to give them the weekend to write reviews for Monday and onwards It makes me think they'll do media screenings in most countries to let local press see it and review it for local papers, magazines, radio stations, TV shows, etc.
