They need to make a system that's gonna be able to actually compete and give people a reason to buy it. I really think if Nintendo made a powerful console that could play their exclusives + all of the big third party games (and actually look good), they would easily win. Leave everything Wii/Wii U related in the past and come up with something innovative while still being easily accessible.

This. They have to retain consumer loyalty so they need to put another 20 or so games out before they focus on the NX.
The NX needs to just be a powerhouse with a tablet option, imo. They can continue with the tablet and motion control options, but still win over third party just by making their gaming power the same as the PS4/XOne. If they finally had third party AND their own games, they'd have another Wii era
They seem to know people want another Metroid so hopefully they're planning that and some other big returns (like Super Mario Galaxy 3, Super Mario World 2, another Xenoblade Chronicles, Splatoon 2, Bayonetta 3, etc.) for the NX
